I was craving for a burger last night and heard great reviews for the new Hop doddy burger place at town center. it's bad when I crave for something because I will go for it and want it! so my husband did not have a choice but to drive 45 minutes from our house to Town center in the midst of rush hour and sadly our experience was not as great as the others. we've been to grub burger but not hopdoddy and we were not sure if it's the same concept on ordering the food and it was, you go to the counter and order your food, so off we went to the counter and we were looking at the menu and we noticed that nobody was at the counter, then while we were looking at the menu the girl went to the cashier tapping the screen without even saying anything to us, no Hello! how are you? are you ready to order? NOTHING! she stared at us thinking we can read her mind. but we were hungry so we just sucked up the bad customer service. since I was hungry we ordered the truffle brussels sprout, brussels fries, the farmhouse burger i think is the name, cookies and cream milkshake and the chicken sandwich, sadly everything was just okay, I was very disappointed. fries and brussels sprouts came cold, fries was not even seasoned with salt or pepper . My burger was okay, the bread was hard and ate half of it.
do we want to go back here again and give them a try? YES, and the reason why is the management reach out to me after I put in our experience and it was a very quick response which I applaud them for that and it shows that they do care on their customer's experience.
as much as I don't want to leave a bad review sadly this has to be done and management needs to know. I just hope that our next visit will be good but I know for sure I am not expecting a lot from this place after last night. that first impression sure does...
Read moreNever seen this place before so we decided to check it out. I was surprised to see they had a full bar and make boozy shakes. You have to ordered from a counter and sit down with a number. However, if you sit at the bar you can order food directly from the bar tender. She was super busy but still took care of us. Watching her make those boozy drinks reminded me of being a kid and putting candy in milk shakes. Looked fun but probably gets annoying and messy.
Normally I wouldn't try an old fashioned off the cocktail menu at a burger/sandwich joint. I'm a little particular but I was intrigued by the choice of Redemption high rye, it told me they might know what they were doing. When the drink showed up with a globe cube and a non muddled luxardo cherry I was relieved. Tasting the boozy concoction I was delighted, they aren't hard to make but man a lot of places will get it wrong. So it was a solid old fashioned.
We got the chips and queso and they were just ok. The chips are kinda mealy if that makes any sense and the cheese had a weird texture. It was good and spicy but we weren't blown away and probably wouldn't get it again.
I had the OG chicken sandwich as did my wife but I got my Cajun. The jalapeño ranch mixed with those Cajun spices and the breading was very good. The chicken wasn't a thick piece but it was thick enough, tender and moist. I guess they brine it first and I hear that's the trick to chic-fil-a's chicken so makes sense.
My wife got their fries and they are the skinny bois but maybe have some batter on them. Really very good and with the jalapeño ranch even better.
We'll be...
Read moreKeep in mind that the high ratings that it shows are mainly old reviews from when this place was called "Grub." Grub was pretty good so I decided to give Hopdoddy a shot. First off, you can't pay cash. Even though it's legal tender in the US, they refuse to accept it. Next, the prices are outrageous and then they have the audacity to try and guilt you into giving them a tip on top of that. Next, the burger choices are weird. I don't need a bacon and tomato Jam on my burger. Every option had these weird things on them. Because of the weird burger choices, I was recommended to get the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I love Nashville Hot flavored stuff. This was pretty much as far away from that as you could get. This was a generic chicken sandwich with a sauce to spice it up a little. Certainly not Nashville Flavoring. I understand it's a burger joint and I didn't order a burger, but the cashier recommended it to me saying it was "really good." While the girl at the register was nice, I had to ask another worker for ice because BOTH machines didn't have any. He never spoke a word to me. He proceeded to look in both machines when I told him they were out (as if he didn't believe me) then went in the back and came out with a bucket of ice to dump in there after about 5 minutes. When I thanked him for it, he still never spoke a word to me. I waited around 15 minutes for my food when the restaurant was practically empty. This was my first and last time visiting here, and you'll have a much better experience going somewhere like Red Robin. So that should tell you something about...
