My fiancĂ© and I were looking for the perfect ring. We started looking online and were soon led to visit Diamonds Direct. We met with a young man by the name Kirill Shipun. Kirill had amazing customer service skills. I have taught customer service/ guest relations classes in the past and was the General Manager for several hotel properties so my immediate instinct is to analyze customers service skills in any company I deal with. Kirill was amazing in every way. He was extremely professional, attentive, knowledgeable, patient, eager, and his main objective was us, the customer. This is a quality that only a few people genuinely possess. The gallery was very busy and not once was his attention redirected. I threw every possible thing I could at him just to test him and he never wavered. There are 3 important words that a customer never wants to hear and that isâŠI Donât Know. And my question to my staff would always be Why Donât You Know and Did you research the answer for the guest? Let me tell you... Kirill knew the answer to about 95% of everything I asked and the 5% that he didnât know his reply was⊠hold on let me find out and that he did! We wanted a particular diamond and it was virtually impossible to get even close to something similar. His boss Kelly Flahardy came over and the two of them promised they would find something that I would absolutely fall in love with. Kelly created sheer magic. He is amazing! He found a diamond better than the one I wanted and walked us through the process from start to finish. Kelly and Kirill are a major asset to this company without a doubt. And from now on when I think of Diamonds Direct I will think of those two. Executives, ownersâŠinstill in your staff that you can have the best business on earth, but if you lack customer serviceâŠserving the customer⊠you have nothing! When I walked into the store, I was greeted by Kirill, who was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He listened carefully to my requirements and provided excellent suggestions and recommendations based on his expertise.
One of the things that impressed me most about Kirill was his attention to detail. He ensured that the ring I chose was of the highest quality and met all of my expectations.    Read moreIt is so strange to me that this place has such good reviews. I have friends that rave about this place but I've been here twice now and will not be purchasing anything. The first time I came in on a busy Saturday, I worked with someone who showed me something I didn't ask for, seemed apathetic throughout our conversation, and then never followed up with us. I decided to try again at a less busy time and give them the benefit of the doubt.
The second time, I had high expectations but was still not impressed. I told the gentleman I was working with that we did not have a good experience the first time in the store, and he didn't even really acknowledge the lack of follow up or say anything more than that it's a "learning experience" for that sales associate. He proceeded to show me a few diamonds and I felt like he was "talking at me" the whole time, not talking to me. Turns out when he gave me his card at the end that he is the general manager lol.
I actually thought they had a large diamond inventory as their marketing suggests but they didn't have what I was looking for at all. One thing I was looking for was a more rare diamond shape, so I totally understand that they didn't have that. But they also didn't have any round diamonds in a pretty standard carat weight that they could show me. They can pull it in from another store but asked for a $2,000-3,000 deposit, compared to a direct competitor where we looked that only requires a $500 deposit to bring in additional inventory.
