I already sent an email to the store, but heres my review of my experience simply picking up an order for an Uber Eats delivery. "I don't deliver very often . But I accepted and headed to pick up an order at your IHOP on Atlantic at about 12:20 am. The driver app says to "park in carside delivery spot, call the store, and a server will be right out." I called a few times (which just put me in a loop of the lady speaking of the restaurant and catering and promised they'd be right with me too). Waited about 8 minutes while someone else got out and went in for her order. At least one of the workers saw me parked in a spot. I came in, waited another 5 minutes behind the customer that came in before me. There's been only one table being served. And I try calling again to see what's happening, and I'm standing next to the phone as it's on SILENT not ringing. So, no wonder no one answered. A worker came out of the kitchen again to help the table, and walking past me, he says "Yes I see you staring me down, what's the name on your order?" I told him the name of my customer, he goes into the kitchen and asks if the other worker had it. They tell me there are no milkshakes and to contact my customer for a substitute. The Uber support says continue with the pick up of ever else, let the customer know to get a refund through Uber eats. I let them know that, he goes back to the kitchen. The lady worker comes out the food, asks me again the name. I tell them both what I can do about the order and I let them know my frustration with the phone being on silent and his initial approach. The man says I'm complaining and disturbing his guests and being rude, but I was just frustrated and voiced it respectfully as he continued to raise his voice at me saying he's the shift manager and they don't get money from Uber so he doesn't care about the description saying to call or the phone being silent or my wait time. The lady who gave me the food and heard my respectful criticism and concerns was nice and said "you're fine. Sorry. Have a good night." And I took a manager card off the wall saying I'm going to call. The man "running the shift" still escalating, yells at me to get out of the restaurant and opened the door for me, so I left. I tried calling the corporate number on Google but it was closed because it was after midnight. The store number and manager's number on the card were both not answering either. I never make a fuss, complain, anything like this, but I was trying to voice my concern and give feedback about the current pick up process and also the "shift manager" giving me an attitude and it's not even my order I was picking up. I hope that man gets talked to and learns that's not how you handle customer service. I'm a working man just like him and it was disrespectful. I hope you turn your store's phone off silent and/or request for Uber to change it to say "please come inside" on nights where you are open 24 hours.
I am not happy with the service I was provided as just the delivery man. I didn't mean to bother any guests, but your shift manager raised his voice at me."
Again I don't ever leave reviews like this or try to make scene. But this was...
Read moreI attempted to make a purchase for mother's day morning late the night before and had a lot of issues with the payment section of the website. Finally once my payment went through, the time had reset to midnight and the food said it was would be ready that night. That's not what I wanted at all. There was no way to cancel online so I called to have it cancelled in store. The girl on the phone did not know how to to cancel and said she'd get a manager, I was then placed on hold for 10 minutes and no one ever returned to my call. I tried hanging up and calling back and it was busy for the next 20 minutes at least. I received no phone calls about the order. The next morning I attempted to place a new order to be picked up that morning. When we arrived to pick up the order 10 minutes after it was supposed to be ready, none of it was even started. I had ordered hours before to make sure it was ready. The woman told me that she'd try to call because they were out of 2 of the ordered items, Hawaiian french toast and corned beef hash. I told her to just take them off and let me just pick up the rest, but was then told (after she told me the rest had already been started) that she hadn't even put the order in because of the missing items. She had called but I missed the call because I was getting my 3 small children ready and loaded so I didn't see the call. I asked her and the manager to cancel the order and he took my name and phone number down to cancel, I mentioned the previous order as well to be cancelled. We then drove to Denny's closer to where we were driving that morning and placed an order through their online ordering system and waited there to get our food. We were 1 hour and 15 minutes late driving food to my mother and grandmother in ponte vedra because of this mess. Adding insult to injury, my card was charged for both breakfasts with no credit to my account. So in total I paid 3 times for mother's day breakfast. I tried to email them about this but the comments box said I'd reached maxium characters and wouldn't let me submit though it let me...
Read moreMy husband and I ate there infrequently and had begun to go a little more often when we found out on our bank statement that they had charged our account for a higher tip than we wrote on the charge ticket!? We gave him a 15% tip, even though that is more than he deserved for talking our ears off about his grandeur as a server and dad, and how terrific his daughter was, and how some people don't leave enough tip for the great service he provides, while we tried to eat while our food was hot. We rushed through our meal, paid the ticket, and left. After we got our next bank statement and saw the charge, we checked our receipt and saw we had given less than what was charged. The charge was for a tip of 20% of the total of the ticket. We never give more than 18%, which is our normal tip, but when we feel the service is not up to par, we only give 15%, as was this case. We feel that is more than was deserved for the service and the conversation we endured. While discussing this charge, we remembered the conversation with that server, who had thrown into his grandiose conversation somewhere, that the manager would, at his request, charge a higher tip on the customer's cards if he felt he was not given enough tip! We did not say anything to him about it, nor report it to IHOP headquarters. We just have not returned! If anyone we know speaks about going there, we tell them about the additional charge. We also tell them that this is the only IHOP that has ever charged more than we approved. As a matter of fact, this IHOP restaurant is the only restaurant that has ever charged more than we designated and signed on the ticket for our meals and tips. Now, if we want breakfast food, we thoroughly enjoy eating it at Denny's and Cracker Barrel, which are only 1-2 miles further...
