Disappointed Despite the Good Food

The food is truly the only highlight of this restaurant, and we will miss the one outstanding waitress who consistently provided great service. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff is severely lacking.

During our recent visit, we were shocked to find a 20% gratuity automatically added for our party—three adults and three children under 5, even though the kids shared a meal and didn’t create a mess or disturbance. This policy was never communicated to us, and frankly, it feels unreasonable and unfair.

What made the situation worse was the dismissive attitude of the manager. Rather than listening or showing any form of hospitality, he told us bluntly: "If it’s going to be a problem, then don’t come back." This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially from someone who’s supposed to represent the establishment.

We typically tip well for good service, but being charged a mandatory gratuity on top of basic, minimal service left a bad impression. It’s hard to imagine this restaurant aiming for the #1 mexican restaurant in Jax with management like this.

To make matters worse, after the table fiasco, I went to close out my bar tab only to find that the manager had already closed it—charging my card without my consent. On top of that, I was charged for two drinks. One had to be remade because the first one was undrinkable. At that point, I was honestly at a loss for words. The lack of professionalism and disregard for basic customer courtesy was astounding. Sadly, we won’t...

I love tacos, I'm a taco fiend, I lived in Mexico for a while, and never got tired of tacos, I ate them every day. I eat tacos to this day at least 1-2 times a week. Whether I grill them up myself, or go out. I had been wanting to try this place for months, and finally got the chance. Sooo disappointing, we arrived, got seated, ordered drinks, was eagerly looking over the menu, when we received our drinks and then the waitress was gonna be right back...my daughter noticed a really long hair in her Horchata, and casually and discreetly brought it to the waitress attention, wanting a replacement., simple easy fix....and the waitress was rude to her, treating her like she was the problem, displaying annoyance and generally being extremely cold and bothered by us..so we paid for our drinks and left. It's a shame because I really wanted to try the place. Some places you just randomly find, and don't feel either way about them before you experience their food and hospitality. This place I actually had high hopes for. Anyways could be a one off, but I never felt welcome enough to wanna go back... I'll go where people appreciate my business, and...

Just recently left the restaurant. Luisana V was our server and man oh man. The service wasn’t good not sure what was going on we were greeted and sat at the very front of the restaurant and waited roughly 10 minutes or more for someone to come by the table to be asked for drinks. The food came out in a timely manner and the shrimp taco I got wasn’t good I noticed my shrimp was cold even though it looked grilled. I didn’t eat it when I touched my other two shrimp it was cold to the touch as if it was refrigerated. She also kept walking by the table and looking at us when we put all the food at the of the table and we would look at her and try to wave her down but that didn’t work. She sat down and looked straight at my husband but that didn’t work. She greeted another table and as she walked away and looked at us again my husband had to partially shout excuse in order to get her attention. She was quick with giving us our check and taking the money but her service was trash. I’ve been here before when the service was a 10/10 but today was disappointing better luck next time but I strongly believe that’s our last time...

Our team stopped by One Night Taco for a casual lunch, and it ended up being the perfect choice! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly service and a fun, laid-back atmosphere that made it a great setting to relax and unwind. The food was absolutely delicious—everyone at the table was raving about their meals. The tacos were bursting with flavor, and all the ingredients tasted super fresh. A few of us shared some appetizers too, and everything we tried was top-notch. You can really tell they put care into what they serve. Service was quick, attentive, and super accommodating for a group. Our server made great menu suggestions and kept things running smoothly without rushing us, which we really appreciated. And the best part? Their two-for-one margarita special! The drinks were perfectly balanced—not too sweet, with just the right kick. It definitely made our lunch feel like a little midweek celebration. All in all, One Night Taco hit the mark for a fun, tasty, and easy team outing. We’ll definitely be back—maybe for happy hour next time!

BEWARE... for 3 months have brought to their attn that ad was not same as price on bill...a violation of FL law by advertising a price they don't honor (in money, clipp). Today when said this was 3rd time and I would report or he could honor price, the manager was down right rude... "go ahead and report/sue"- grabbing ad from me and wouldnt return, and getting in face and saying in rude manner "I will honor it this time, but I don't EVER, I mean EVER, want to see you here again." Fine by me.. your loss...there is a mexican place on every corner and your place seems to need the biz since completely empty of customers every time I've come with friends at 2pm. Your choice to lose $30 biz for $2.01 diff in price you advertise, and anyone else can also bring in and demand or report (I'd bet those flyers charge you for those ads you claim you're trying to remove, but you honor $10 coupon at bottom. Are you going to ban everyone who expects you to honor ad?) Guac is like paste now, not with chunky avacado, and lunch chimichanga had way too much salt.
