Fam...oof. I honestly hate to write this review, but dang. I've gone here several times and the coffee is fine. Nothing out of this world and honestly a little overpriced. Today was my final day coming here, though. I walked in this morning on my way to work and was the only patron at the time. I ordered an iced coffee with oat milk and a bacon, egg, and cheese crossaint sandwich. Both items were made quickly, which wasn't the problem. I've ordered the iced coffee with oat milk several times and had no issues. Today, I don't think the girl who made my coffee fully listened to my order before she walked away to make it and FOR SURE made it with regular milk. I know this because over the last few years as I've entered into my 30s, milk has become my arch nemesis (thus the oat milk) and MY GOD was I miserable from about 30 min later to even now at 9pm. The pain I felt was unbearable all day and I looked 6 months pregnant. This is not an exaggeration as I've had two pregnancies and know exactly what I look like 6 months pregnant. 😭🫠 🤣 On top of feeling like a balloon was inflated in my intestines for 93% of my day, the $8 (yes, $8) breakfast sandwich I had was...bless. It was horrible. I'm gonna take the hit on that one and say that's on me. I should have asked what kind of cheese. Had I known it was AMERICAN, which is not actual cheese, I would have done a hard pass and gone hungry. However, I expected that an $8 sandwich would have real cheese like cheddar, jack, etc. Something made of real ingredients and substance. I could have gone across the street to Panera and gotten a far better and bigger sandwich with real cheese for less money. (Yes, yes, yes...corporate America gets the buying power so of course it would cost less...but seriously, an $8 sandwich should have real cheese). All this to say, I tossed the sandwich after three horrible bites. I tried. I really did. The third bite was out of pure desperation as I had spent almost $17 on this sandwich, coffee, and a tip. Practically $20 on breakfast. I could have paid the same amount at an actual breakfast restaurant and gotten a full meal and unlimited coffee. Look, this is purely informational and has zero to do with the staff. If I was to rate the staff, I'd say 4 stars...cus, like, homegirl didn't listen to my order which prompted a wildly uncomfortable day for me. 🤣 We all make mistakes though, but that one effing blew for me today. Anyhoo...food bad. People good. Prices terrible. Won't be going back, but not because I'm self-centered enough to think that my once a month-ish presence will make or break them like some idiots who write reviews and swear a place off...it's truly because I just fo not like the food and the overall prices, even for just an iced coffee. They are just out of this world and not worth it to me. I'm happy to pay more for solid food and drinks, but this isn't hitting it for me. Wish ya'll the best. I really would consider some cheddar for those...
Read moreThere is no way these reviews are so high. Maybe it’s that for alternative coffee options there just isn’t much around. But I’m a HUGE cafe fan and let me tell you this place is MID.
Coffee is okay. I’m sure the people saying the coffee here is amazing because they just douse their drinks and sugar and can’t actually tell.
It is clean and it is quiet and there are ample spaces to work and charge laptops. Lots of natural light. BUT WOBBLY TABLES - like all of em???
THE STAFF 😭 these folk look like they’ve been drowning puppies all day long. Like there isn’t a sun in the sky. Not a smile once in the 4 or 5 visits here. They speak so quietly you have to lean in. They don’t care about you would prefer you don’t even come in. I get it you’re not the owner but bro - this is ridiculous. If the owner cared about improving they should send in a secrete shopper.
SUMMARY: coffee is passable ☕️ 👎 prices are highish - better coffee, cheaper elsewhere. 🫰💵 generally clean and quiet 🧼💆♀️ staff wouldn’t help you up if you broke a leg. This is how they look at you when you...
Read moreAh, a competitor to Coffee Grinders! They had the audacity to open across the street from an amazing coffee shop! But let me tell you, this place is another fine addition to the Jacksonville coffee scene.
While the atmosphere may not have the coziest small business vibe and feels more like a Starbucks, it still boasts a nice modern and elegant design with plenty of seating, perfect for students and small gatherings.
Where it might lack in coziness, it more than makes up for with incredible customer service. The coffee here is absolutely addicting, and the food is equally amazing! If I had a coffee shop, I’d want this place to open across from me to keep me on my toes and ensure we both serve the best...
