Went to this Popeyes in July and man let me tell you! This is the BEST Popeyes in Jax. I almost don’t want to say that because I don’t want to drive all the traffic to that location but I gotta tell the truth. Let me tell you why this is the best one. I went originally went to the Popeyes on University near Memorial Hospital to get a chicken sandwich for me and my husband (who had never had the Popeyes chicken sandwich before). We get to the first Popeyes on University only to get to the drive thru and they say they are out of chicken sandwiches. We left and sped over to the Popeyes on San Jose right before they closed. Now I know lots of places HATE last minute customers and we humbly pulled up to the drive thru expecting to hear they were out of everything at that time of night. Lo and behold, the voice on the other side of the speaker told me “Why yes, we DO have chicken sandwiches available tonight AND we have spicy chicken. We ordered 2 spicy chicken sandwiches and the 9 pc spicy dark meat with some sides. The food was fast, piping hot and fresh because they just dropped it. Even though they were like 15 minutes away from closing time the young man at the window was so friendly, funny and helpful. I wish I had gotten his name to personally recognize him for his great service! If he’s not a manager, HE SHOULD BE! And if he IS a manager, I see why he is a great choice. All the employees seemed happy to be there even though they were about to leave (or maybe that was why they were so happy at the end of the night lol) but I think it’s a true testament to management at that location. Good management means happy employees. The young man had locs and worked the window and if he is reading this review, Thank you for making this the ONLY Popeyes we will come back to from now on because you YOUR excellent service that July night before closing! One last thing, my husband loved the chicken sandwich so much we will be going back for one TONIGHT at this location. My only worry now is that my husband loves your chicken sandwiches more than he loves me lol! JK! They...

First off, when we ordered, there were heaps of chicken in the prep area, multiple trays of biscuits, and plenty of prepped sides in the warmer cabinet. Literally all that was needed was for some numbskull to put our food in the box and hand it to us. More than 15 minutes later, we finally had our food! While waiting, another diner had her food put together wrong (incorrect chicken) and the manager asked me twice if I was getting spicy or mild as if she is incapable of just reading the ticket! What's worse is that she didn't seem to care that things were so badly executed.
The dining room was filthy! Our second try for a clean table had streaks and water spots as if wiped down with dirty water and still had sticky spots all over it. This was a better table than our first try! The area with condiments and napkins reeked like filthy old dish water.
The food was horrendous. Chicken was over breaded and over fried to the point of having hard breading and meat so dry it was hard to chew. The two breasts seemed to have meat missing - where the plump part of the breast meat should have been, it was literally concave and down to bone at the edges. One piece appeared to be a boneless wing placed in the wrong basket but picked anyway and it was all breading with a very small amount of meat that was so dry it makes jerky seem moist. Overall, the chicken pieces were small and of very poor quality. The dirty rice had an off flavor reminiscent of soap as if it was prepped in a pan that was not rinsed after cleaning. Absolutely disgusting. I brought half the food home because I couldn't stomach any more of it, but I strongly suspect I'm just going to throw it away as it was barely edible to begin with.
On every single element of the experience, it was a horrible fail this evening. What a shame! I used to really like Popeyes, but if this is the level of corner cutting and incompetence it has become, I doubt I...
Read moreI ordered a 12 piece dark meat spicy family meal with mash potatoes and red beans and rice I spent $30 and some change. Me and my boyfriend got food poisoning a bed had to go to the hospital. I also gave my other two children some food however my infant just had diarrhea really bad. My son didn't eat it at all so he had no systems amen to that. I missed a whole week of work. The manager was very nonchalant about the situation and when I had called to inform them of my situation with us being sick they told me that they couldn't give me my refund... it's been going on a week and I yet have still heard from the actual manager Carlos who is over this place. I think this is unprofessional and unacceptable that if a customer who spends money with YOUR COMPANY then you should personally call them back and also accommodate them for the inconvenience and lack of workers that you have for having this happen. When I came in the store NO ONE WAS WEARING GLOVES NO ONE CLEANED OFF THE TABLES. I BEYOND UPSET BECAUSE I HAVE MY MANAGERS SERVE SAFE LICENSE AND I TOO COOK SO I KNOW THE RULES AND REGULATIONS WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD AND THIS STORE DID NOTHING THE WAS SANITARY. The ONLY person that had on gloves was one guy in the back with the chicken. I've seen workers go outside to drop off food and then come back in and touch other people's food without washing hands. Some had on hair nets and some didn't. I would like for someone to call me ASAP and inform me of what's going on work my case and I would like to be compensated in some way because I had to lose out on my income. I have three children that I take care of and I've missed work and food poisoning is NOT a good feeling to feel when you're vomiting all over the place having diarrhea and breathing out in fevers. Whoever owns this place needs to reach out or i will have to address the issue with my lawyers and continue with my...
