I have been here on 4 occasions and the food, compared to other nearby Mexican restaurants, just isn't as good. Its very average, which would be ok, but accompanied by the often very slow service and slow kitchen turnout time just isn't good enough. Our most recent visit was this past Sunday. They were not especially busy and yet we waited 15 minutes to be asked our drinks, to which we also asked to order as we had already been looking at the menus for said 15 minutes. Then we waited another 10 minutes untill we received our chips and salsa. 10 minutes later our cheese dip arrived, to an empty basket of chips. 10 minutes later our replacement chips arrived and we ask for drink refills as our drinks have been empty for a while. By now we are 45 minutes into our visit and food has not arrived. We wait another 15 minutes for our food, its been an hour. We ask for boxes as we dont have time to eat because have to meet someone and did not expect to wait an hour. Later, the food was mediocre. The steak of the fajita was dry and my chicken burrito was more flour burrito folded over itself than actual filling. But as we had to wait to eat them out of a Styrofoam box later that evening it wouldn't be fair to judge them. Needless to say I dont believe we will be back. I've givin it several tries as its the closest Mexican place by my house but the experience simply isn't good and I dont mind driving the extra 5 minutes for a better experience for...
Read moreWe have been to Rosy's a number of times and have always been pleased with the experience. We generally go for weekday lunch so it is not crowded but there are still other patrons so the restaurant is in action but not rushed. Drinks come quickly. The chips are fresh and medium crunch, so not the real thin ones that break and not the very thick that are too hard. The salsa is consistently good with just a little kick and always has visible cilantro, which I prefer. The meals come out in a reasonable time. We've tried several items and all were to our liking. I think their grilled chicken is marinated well and has a very good taste, plus if an item doesn't come with steak or shrimp you can still upgrade to it. We've never checked the restrooms so no comment. We've had the latest server more than once and he does an excellent job, and if I remember correctly that all servers we've encountered are pleasant and efficient. The dining room is clean and spacious although a tad outdated in decorating, but I am there for eating and not from Architectural Digest. And yes, parking can be a challenge in that strip mall but since Rosy's is on the corner, go to the side for more places. Overall we were happy with our latest experience and we will definitely visit a number of...
Read moreThe food wasn't at all as described in other reviews. I come from texas where there are tons of Mexican restaurants and they are good and authentic. Here in Florida it's been hard to find any good Mexican restaurants. Well we read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Well the food sucked!! Tamales were straight masa, no meat.... The taco salad was watery and had a bad after taste and cost was expensive, if you want fajita meat they fail to tell you it's $3 extra. The waiter was rude and assumed he knew how to split the ticket and when he brought it back it was split wrong. Wouldn't give us a discount on the bad food, and not even on the tamale my sister-in-law didn't even eat because it was just straight masa... Not even considered a tamale. Never got drink refills. Just over all very very bad experience! I definitely get better service and food...
