I recently had the pleasure of dining at Scramblers for breakfast, and I must say it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The menu offered a wide variety of breakfast options, and I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food.
For my first meal, I ordered the kids meal pancake with a smiley face on it. The presentation alone brought a smile to my face! The pancake was fluffy and perfectly cooked, and the combination of bacon, whipped cream, and blueberries added a delightful burst of flavors. It was a playful and delicious start to my day.
Next, I tried the western omelette, which came with a generous portion of potatoes and fresh fruit. The omelette was packed with savory ingredients like ham, peppers, and onions, and the cheese melted perfectly throughout. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the fresh fruit provided a refreshing balance to the hearty omelette. It was a satisfying and well-rounded breakfast option.
One of the highlights of my visit was the open face omelette on a croissant. The combination of a flaky croissant and a fluffy omelette was simply heavenly. The omelette was filled with a variety of delicious ingredients, and the croissant added a wonderful buttery texture to each bite. It was a unique twist on a classic dish, and I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.
Overall, Scramblers exceeded my expectations with their breakfast offerings. The meals were prepared with care and attention to detail, and the flavors were outstanding. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that I had a pleasant dining experience. While I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, I am giving Scramblers four stars instead of five due to the slightly longer wait time for my food. However, the quality of the meals more than made up for the wait.
If you're looking for a breakfast spot with delicious and creative dishes, I highly recommend giving Scramblers a try. Whether you're in the mood for a playful kids meal or a savory omelette, they have something to satisfy every palate. I can't wait to visit again and explore more of their...
Read moreThis is an experiential review with some historical context at the end. This is a newly remodeled restaurant in Deerwood village. I arrived somewhere near 0825 and it was very quiet, but the storm of diners would be just behind me. Food and menu selections most good. Found the online menu to be clearer than the printed ones. Service was good from the two staff that were there. On this day I had the Wild Western omelette again, well prepared. Server most helpful in side selection. So we're at five stars thus far. And then the crowds start to come, and did they ever come. I'd say the restaurant went to 75% capacity in about 20 minutes. The acoustics in this area, seemingly very open make for a really loud, like high volume dining experience. I'm going to pass over the people watching element of this. But it was here. This leads to the first issue. The staff of two was quickly overwhelmed the kitchen staff did assist where possible, but it was clearly getting busier. 🐾 The seating is assigned by a host and there wasn't one I counted at least 9-10 people including groups that entered, seeing no one including empty tables they simply left. Again, staffing issues is a challenge I think the seating could be improved on. More staff did arrive later and it seemed to improve. So I'm finishing my most great omelette and even though it's loud and busy the staff still took the time to bring some coffee by. Most great. So, other than minor issues this is definitely a five star restaurant and experience. History information. Right nearby to the southwest of their main entrance are some water fountains including a historical marker dating from 1976. As I understand it this area of Deerwood Village is one of the oldest merchant and commerce related areas of Jacksonville even dating back to the settlement as a colony of Spain. It's also my understanding that the five points of Jacksonville is the oldest settled neighborhood of Jacksonville. This area could be a...

The menu at Scrambler offers a wide range of breakfast options, and I decided to indulge in a hearty breakfast feast. I started with the classic combination of fried eggs, bacon, and hash browns, and they were cooked to perfection. The eggs were beautifully fried, with a golden yolk that oozed out with each bite. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, and the hash browns were the ideal balance of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Next, I couldn't resist trying the chocolate pancakes. They were a chocolate lover's dream come true! The pancakes were fluffy and moist, with just the right amount of chocolatey goodness. Paired with a generous drizzle of maple syrup, it was a heavenly combination.
To balance out the indulgence, I also ordered a fruit cup. The cup was filled with a vibrant assortment of fresh fruits, which added a refreshing touch to the meal. It was a delightful way to incorporate some healthy choices into my breakfast.
Of course, no breakfast is complete without a cup of coffee, and Scrambler didn't disappoint. The coffee was rich, aromatic, and served piping hot. It was the perfect companion to accompany my meal.
Lastly, I decided to try the avocado toast. It was a lovely twist on a classic favorite. The avocado was creamy and perfectly seasoned, spread generously on a toasted slice of bread. It was a delicious combination that left me wanting more.
