Read moreFinally! The Authentic Indian Street Food I've Been Searching For! If you are looking for an authentic, no-compromises Indian street food experience, stop searching and come here immediately. I tried four of their most iconic dishes, and each one was an absolute masterpiece that transported me straight to the bustling streets of Mumbai. Pani Puri: Let's be clear: this is the best pani puri in town, and it's not even close. The puris are shatteringly crisp, light as air, and never greasy. But the star is the pani (the spiced water) – it’s a perfectly balanced, chilled concoction of tangy tamarind, fiery chili, and fresh mint. Each bite is a delightful explosion in your mouth. Unforgettable! Samosas: The humble samosa is often done poorly, but not here. These are golden-brown perfection. The pastry is flaky and substantial without being heavy, and the potato and pea filling is spiced beautifully with a warmth that lingers. Served with zesty mint and sweet tamarind chutneys, they are simply divine. Pav Bhaji: This is soul-warming food at its finest. The bhaji (a rich, velvety vegetable mash) is incredibly flavorful and simmered to perfection with a generous dollop of butter on top. It’s served with the softest, most pillowy pav (bread rolls) I’ve ever had, toasted beautifully with even more butter. Squeeze the lime, add the raw onions, and prepare for heaven. Vada Pav: The ultimate Indian burger! The vada itself—a seasoned potato fritter coated in chickpea flour—was perfectly spiced and fried to a golden crisp. Tucked inside a soft pav with a smear of spicy, dry garlic chutney and a vibrant green chutney, this was a masterclass in texture and flavor. It’s the kind of simple, satisfying food that you’ll crave for days. I cannot recommend this place enough. The flavors are bold, authentic, and made with love. Do yourself a...
Read moreThis location is most definitely five stars. I'll try and make this a straightforward review but my great experience with this Indian cuisine took me into some research into what I was eating. Namely, 2 Samosa Tea which included fresh tea leaves into a mint tea and the Samosas which, as I'm learning is a popular Indian Tea time healthy snack called or related to Ayuneda, " an Indian medicinal practice, dating thousands of years." Like 500 BC. Everything is freshly prepared right there and is so much better than this whole fast food scene that seems to be taking over society. Jax Tea 🍵 is a great place...
