We came in around 1:00 pm and it was crazy busy as usual. Idk how many times I've tried to eat at Metro Diner before but I was just too impatient or my social anxieties would make me run right out the door upon walking in and seeing how packed it was. But I braved it this morning cause I needed Chicken and Waffles. Of course, we could've gone to several other local places, but we had never been here sooooo... we waited about 10 minutes for a table. It was loud, very loud. Our server came over, I had the Peanut Butter Pie coffee and my hubby had the Peach Tea... both were incredibly delicious. I ordered from the kids menu. I recently had a gastric sleeve done, so I can only eat very little. I got the chicken tenders and waffles and my husband ordered the adult size Chicken and Waffles. It took about 30 minutes to come out, and I could tell our server was a little scattered. It took a while to get my coffee refilled and my hubby's tea refilled. She made our sweet heat sauce right at the table. It was yummy. My husband's plate came with a HUGE, thick Belgian waffle with strawberry compound butter and powdered sugar and a half of a HUGE fried chicken! He couldn't make it through the last piece of chicken but he ate the rest like someone was about to steal it from him! 🤣 He said it was one of the best fried chicken he's EVER tasted. And I've seen this man put some fried chicken away, for real. I tasted his chicken and it was perfection. Perfectly balanced spices and very moist. My kids chicken and waffles came with half of one of the same Belgian waffles with the same compound butter. Mine had chicken tenders. The breading was softer than I liked but the chicken was moist and the flavors mixed with the waffle, butter, and sweet hot syrup was AMAZING. I only got about 5 bites in, but I have plenty to eat on all day lol and what a great choice for an all day meal. Fattier than I'm supposed to eat, but who goes to Metro Diner and doesn't get this dish? Ahhhh.......
Read moreWe drove by it and said what the heck was tried. It was surprisingly good the service was excellent. The food was good and plentiful definitely value for your dollar and the place was clean everybody was polite and nice. It was enjoyable we had a great lunch. So I've been back a few times and each time was a decent experience. Except for today I went with my family and grandchildren I ordered the metro club like I always do with extra crispy fries and lots of mail on the side and everybody else ordered their own thing and then we waited and waited and she brought me my food and said I have to wait for the fries and I said OK but please. I need that mayonnaise and about 10 minutes later. She brings me the fries and I said. I'm still waiting for that mayonnaise. And then she copped attitude, so she brings me a couple of little pouches of Mayo. We go through the whole day. I mean, the whole meal, and then finally at the end, she asks my daughter. If she needs to take out container, my daughter says no I said yes I do please and then another 10 minutes later she walks by and I'm like miss. I still need that takeout container. And then she brings it to me. The worst service I've ever had in my life. I think her name was Nikki. I'm not sure, but she was wearing a yellow T-shirt. The only one with a yellow shirt. Literally. The worst worst service. I didn't pay the bill if I did. She wouldn't have gotten a tip at all. I'm gonna think twice about ever...
Read moreGuest wanted Fried Chicken and she so remembered that Metro Diner made some of the best with waffles, syrup and hot sauce so off we went. This Metro is located in a strip mall unlike the original stand alone. Parking was ok but can see on a busy day with all the stores might be a challenge 4 🌟. Seated right away at a table and was pleased to see every table had a plastic partition separating one table from another plus a bottle of hand sanitizer 5 🌟. It was cold so I ordered the hot chocolate a nice 5 🌟 $2.19. Our guest ordered the Chicken and Waffles a real 5 🌟 for $15.79. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie...good but a few things give it a 4 🌟 at $11.99. Unlike the true Shepherds Pie we had in London 2 years ago the Mashed Potato topping was in 2 mounds and the gravy rather tasteless. Bill ordered the French Dip a real 1 🌟 looser. The filling was so dry with so little meat that we found it hard to justify the $10.99 price...please don't order. Fries with the sandwich were good but not good enough to save this 1 🌟 dish. We did order 2 cups of the Shrimp Corn Chowder that came hot but should be called Potato, Cream of Corn and some Shrimp that fell in by mistake Chowder sorry just a 3 🌟 for $3.28. Andrew our server though very busy was attentive and worked hard including helping us with our take home meal and Chocolate Cake Dessert. Overall we enjoyed and will return as you should just watch...
