We were visiting Jacksonville because of the Jazz Festival. We have visited this location multiple times in the past, so we felt pretty comfortable revisiting... After attending the Jazz Festival my husband and I and two other couples traveling with us went and placed an order. After placing our order and paying, we were given a number. The young lady who served us was pleasant and answered all questions ( about the menu items, what they were out of, etc.) As the orders were ready numbers were called, the patron went to the counter to get their order (particularly if it was to- go). When OUR order was ready, a different server yelled out my husband's first name...we had not recalled anyone asking our name when placing our order. My husband as well as our friends and the young lady who served us were quite surprised...even looking a little confused. This was not customary nor was it the expected procedure. My husband's name was yelled out again, he then responded with is this regarding my order? She responded very rudely "is your name Larry, do you not remember your name? The tone at which it was said was very unprofessional and quite disrespectful. He then said we were given a number that would be called so I wasn't sure why you were yelling my name the way you were. Upon leaving the server yelled, " I hope you remember your name next time!" Our response was "it was all about being given a number"...she then yelled again " I hope you remember your name next time" as we were leaving...she later said " don't come back!". And finally sarcastically said " Bye (my husband's name)! Not sure what was going through her mind 🤷🏽 Needless to say, we will not be returning to this establishment...but we will return again next year for the Jazz Festival✌🏼
Cuddos to the chef! Food...

First, here's the good: The burger I had was outstanding. It had bacon, fried egg and garlic sauce on it, and the patties had crisp edges you don't usually find. It managed to save what would have been a truly miserable experience.
The mediocre: Their menu prominently features mac n cheese, so I got that as a side. It was flavorless, nothing special at all. For the mac n cheese entrees I saw other people eating, they apparently start with mediocrity and load it up with other stuff to make it more palatable. I can't recommend the plain mac.
And now the bad: This space is extremely uncomfortable. Most of the tables are high-tops with backless square metal stools, the kind it's impossible to relax on. They only have two tables with regular chairs, which of course were already taken. With all the metal surfaces and hard edges, there's no sound absorption, so the place is effing loud, so loud that I couldn't understand a word the cashier said to me when I placed my order. To make matters worse, they blast music loud enough to be uncomfortable when you're quiet and impossible to hold a conversation over without shouting.
I was so stressed by the noise and the uncomfortable furnishings that I changed my order from eat-in to to-go. It was better to wade through the panhandlers and clouds of cigarette and pot smoke on the sidewalk outside than endure that cacophony inside. I would probably order take out from here, but only if I called in ahead and didn't have to wait for it in their miserable dining room.
Five stars for the burger, three stars for the mac n cheese and zero stars for the ambience rounds up to...

My wife and I walked in to Spliff's on Sunday afternoon after reading the reviews hoping to eat some good food, instead we got overpriced burnt burgers, hot fries with cold cheese topping and a side salad made from the center of the head of lettuce, (the hard white core) which pretty much made it all inedible, a sprinkle of cut tomatoes and shredded carrots. With some watered down ranch dressing in a small 2 oz cup.
I had the Wake and Bake, and a side of Mac & Cheese, my burger was burnt, hardly any beer cheese plus it was cold and the Mac and cheese was Luke warm at best. Cost $18.00
My wife ordered the Regs Burger with no garlic aioli, and no onions (she's allergic to onions) BUT add goat cheese (a smear on the bun) and sun dried tomatoes(6 tiny little strips). With a side salad no onions and ranch dressing. The 1st side salad they bought had onions so they had to make her one. Cost $16.00 Plus the cheese fries cost $15.00 2 fountain sodas $6.00 And a $2.24 charge for using our CC ! Total bill=$62.00!!! Now normally I would not say anything but I am tired of working and doing my job correctly to have someone like this not care about the food they are putting out and then have the audacity to charge these prices! Plus no gloves or hair nets or hair even tied back for kitchen staff?!🤔
And the smell in the women's bathroom, being in the restaurant business my wife knew what was wrong, the drainage system is backing up and needs to be cleaned out by professionals. The smell is old grease built up and backed up in the pipes.
The only thing that made this visit pleasant was my wife and...
