What you are about to read is a true account of what many feel is as rare a sighting as Bigfoot itself. But I swear to you, everything you'll read is true.
After a long day's work I went for a quick bite to eat, dinner to be exact. I didn't have to walk far, a mere 8 minutes or so from Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.
As I walked into the Dos Gatos Mexican Restaurant, I was immediately greeted by Julio (the friendliest Waiter I'd met in quite a while). I would later find out he is actually the Manager. This is where the story takes a ride into the "Twilight Zone".
He not only greeted me with a smile but he shared an authentic conversation with me. WHAT?? No way! Yes way, I swear!!
He walked me over to my table and did a flawless hand off with the most kind and soft-spoken waitress there, Angela H. She had a pleasant demeanor about her and wait for it..., greeted me with the most authentic smile as well. What?? This was not happening. Somebody pinch me!! Noone, and I mean noone, is going to believe me.
She took my complete order in what seemed to be seconds and returned with my drink almost immediately. Drink was ICE COLD just like you read about in fictional stories, I promise. And my meal followed within mere minutes, probably less than 10 to be exact.
Dinner plates were flawlessly arranged showcasing a variety of vibrant and complimentary colors and textures. And the food was not bad either. Lol. All kidding aside, my plate was quite authentic and dare I say, DAMN GOOD. Hell yeah!! I know this because, well I'm also Mexican. However don't assume I go around endorsing Mexican restaurants because I won't and don't. I actually find myself being less impressed with Mexican restaurants because well, my standards are pretty freaking high. So trust when I tell you that this restaurant is Authentic and their food is Phenomenal.
I highly recommend!!!
And if you enjoy their food as much as I did, or anyone else's, let someone know. God knows I'm always looking for honest reviews.
Oh yeah, and they offer discounts as well. If you're not...
Read moreThis place is a breath of fresh air compared to other bars I've visited in Jacksonville. There are no pre-made/purchased mixers used each individual cocktail is made from scratch using the freshest fruits, vegetables, and spices hand picked by the manager multiple times a week. They mash and mix everything right in from of you. It's not your normal run of the mill bar where a mixture from a plastic bottle is grabbed from the shelf and added to your alcohol of choice. It's an experience!! If you don't know what type of drink you're in the mood for one of the extremely friendly bartenders is happy to come up with something amazing. They will make something that will make your mouth thank you and leave you wanting more. They also have a wide selection of Tequila and Whiskey, you will not be disappointed. It's a first class experience. You won't be sorry you visited. I wasn' t and I can't wait to come back. The bar is beautiful and the entertainment is fantastic, they have weekly Bingo, DJ, a TV's to watch your favorite...
Read moreMonday 12/19/23 @12am I came into the bar and there were two bartenders working the bar. One Hispanic looking guy short plaid shirt and a younger girl with blue hair, I believe her name was Tina. Both ignore me while I sat at the bar in an empty space waiting in a drink. The guy walked by me multiple times without speaking but spoke to everyone around me. The girl with the blue hair eventually walked up to me and pointed at me, I’m assuming this was her way to greet all guest or maybe just me. At this point it’s sad that we have to deal with this kind of service in a bar. She treated me as if I was bothering her or interrupting her from doing her job. Now they were not busy as at all. There had to have been at least 6 ppm at the bar at the time came and this is just ridiculous to have to deal with the complete rudeness of patrons. I’ve never had an issue with coming here until tonight. I will gladly never come here again and will not recommend this place to...
