I visited this location (normandy blvd in jacksonville fl close to I-295) today 5/15/2024 with a family member while he had to wait for public transportation to pick him up. When I tried to place an order, a young lady told me that they were unable to accept orders in the lobby due to staffing shortage (keep this in mind for later on in the review) yet there was a young lady employee sitting in the lobby on her phone. So, I left, pulled thru the drive thru (mind you, I was the only customer in the lobby and now in the drive thru at this point) only to be told to "wait a minute". I waited a couple moments placed my order, came round the side to pick it up and was told to please pull forwarded for someone else to bring it out to me. The young lady was nice, so I went back inside to wait with my family member. Before I went in there was a young lady that I was parked next to in the parking lot that walked in front of me inside to go right behind the counter in the back??? so, I thought that was weird, I then saw a male worker in the lobby doing nothing. So, by my count, there are at least 6 people on site at the location as employees during this time. As I begin to eat my meal, one of the lobby doors gets opened and 5 males come walking in, some went behind the counter, one went to the restroom and another one started talking to the male worker that was sitting in the lobby when I returned. Now this makes over 10 employees on site for work on the clock at the same location that was "said" to be "short" staffed. There was some back-and-forth movement with said employees from the counter to outside the location for a few minutes but mainly everybody just seemed to be on "chill" mode and really not trying to work. Regarding my meal, the only thing good about it was my drink because the fries were cold and hard, and the hamburger was old. To sum this up, the experience today was disappointing considering the number of employees present on the clock to get paid but produce...
Read moreI give this store a star rating for the gent behind the register, my apologies for not getting your name. No stars would have been given if not for him. The store was not busy inside nor out but I & another in front had to wait before we could order. I place in my order & was not told my total price, at the window I was told my total was 7.47, I handed a 10, my order was handed to me & 53 cents. Didn't think of it at the time I was driving off but it occured to me that my change was not correct. Made my back to the building & walked inside to have the issue corrected. Was presented w/a smile & kind costumer service by the casheir. Told him of my situation of being shorted & that I had no receipt to show for the young transaction. He had left to get the very manager who took my order, she immediately walks up to me w/a dollar bill out in front of her saying "I handed you your change w/the money, but here's another dollar." 1st off I was shorted 2 dollars not the one, a copy of the receipt also should hav been given to me & a duplicate should have been made for safe keeping. Also store money should be kept tight, correct? So if I "the costumer" was indeed wrong, shouldn't you have made duplicate copies of said receipt for fileing purposes & date & time for a corrective response to be insured? This manager did not do as she was supposed to, im still short a dollar & today has been my final. Thanks to this particular manager I will now be on a hunt to have satisfaction served by the managers of Normandy. All in all do your job correctly, treat others w/respect & not as cattle. If it wasn't for our services "being your costumers" you would be out of a job. 23 years old & I hold confidence that I am more equip to do your job...
Read moreDidn’t have high expectations after reading a few reviews but after being on the road for 10 hours wanted something more than convince store food and hubby wanted a burger.
Upon walking in I notice that the doors/windows were FILTHY- covered with handprints, grease, you name it. Bathroom was marginally clean so felt better. Walked up to register to see a young male with ear buds in playing on his phone. Since he just looked at me I greeted him and asked him if they took Apple Pay. He replied “I’m on break” and walked away. Nice! He said something to someone at the drive through- and another young male came over and asked me what I wanted. He also had ear buds in and I had to repeat my order several times, I assume because he had something playing in his ears. Not one single employee had on a hair net, hat, or any head covering at all. Food service violation #1- No employee had on gloves, I saw no hand washing, saw employees use their phone amd then pick up the fry scoop- and fill fry buckets then put them in bags. Food service violation #2 There was an older male (late 20’s) who was dressed differently and I asked if he was the manager and he replied yes. He also handled food without gloves or washing- after handling his phone as well.
I walked out of this restaurant (to eat in the car with the dog) and felt certain that the food was going to suck and I would probably end up with food poisoning. I was shocked to find the burger very good- cold crisp toppings and warm meat on a bun. Fries were good-just the right amount of salt. Food was surprisingly good. I am still waiting to find out about the...
