I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at this Chinese buffet restaurant, and I feel compelled to share it so others are aware before deciding to visit.
First of all, the food was far below acceptable standards. Many of the dishes looked old, stale, and were served either cold or barely warm. Some items even tasted like they had been sitting out for far too long, and the overall quality was extremely poor — definitely not worth the price they charge. It felt like no care or attention had been put into preparing or maintaining the food.
The atmosphere inside the restaurant was also very uncomfortable. The lighting was dim, the dining area didn’t feel clean, and the overall vibe of the place was unwelcoming. It felt neglected and unhygienic, which made it hard to enjoy the meal.
However, what truly shocked me was the service. In the middle of my meal, a staff member came over and insisted that I sign the receipt right away. I politely said I was still eating, but instead of understanding, the staff became rude and impatient. Eventually, they even raised their voice at me — completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I've never had a restaurant experience where a customer is pressured and spoken to so disrespectfully, especially while still in the middle of dining.
A restaurant is supposed to be a place where people can relax and enjoy their food in a pleasant environment, but this experience was the complete opposite. I left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and frankly, disgusted.
I will absolutely not be returning to this place, and I strongly advise others to stay away. Unless major changes are made in both the food and the service, this restaurant is not worth anyone’s time or money.
I sincerely hope the management reads this and seriously reconsiders how they treat their customers — because this kind of experience is completely...
Read moreThis is a place I've frequented since they arrived in Janesville, even patronizing the old one before the shut down. The food is always what you'd expect of a classic Chinese buffet. Unfortunately my visit today was unacceptable.
The food was average as usual and perfectly worth the asking price. The issues here arrises with the staff. After signing my check at the counter the employee openly asked me to leave a tip. Now normally in a restaurant you should absolutely leave a tip, especially if you receive good service from a server. However, this is a buffet. What server could I possibly be tipping when I'm the one retrieving my own food and drink?
I politely decline to haphazardly hand out more money for an unknown service. The cashier then persists even further that I leave a tip, gesturing to the 20% option. I once again decline. She decided then to gesture to the door and even begin ushering my out while cursing at me in mandarin thinking I wouldn't understand.
Tipping is not some mandatory expectation of dining. It is a voluntary show of gratitude for a service provided. I received no service outside of the food I fetched for myself and paid the asking price for such. To curse at a guest and demand more money is...
Read moreIt's good to have a Chinese buffet back in town. The place is clean, they're checking and refreshing the food regularly. I've been here 3 times and everything has been good each time. Quality and consistency. They're very quick to refill your drinks. You've got all your typical Chinese buffet staples. My three favorite items are the lo mein, fried rice and chicken broccoli. The lo mein noodles are soft without being mushy, and have a really good flavor. The fried rice is pretty good, there's no tumeric or whatever that gives it the yellow color but it's not lacking in flavor. The chicken broccoli is good, the broccoli is also cooked just right. I mainly get it for the broccoli and a bit of chicken. The sauce is flavorful but can be a bit overly salty if you get too much. I almost always finish with a donut, and each time they've been soft, fresh and hot. Clean place, friendly and attentive...
