Placed order number 8434-2450 on 02/01/emailed about three issues (short piece of straight hair in Teriyaki Beef with mushroom, Mongolian beef with an odd smell, and their size portion - container size change). Dinner cost $121.44 and the containers are not as deep. Everyone wants to make money, but doesn’t want to provide good quality food with decent portions. Sent an email on website. Still waiting for response. Called the evening of placed and picked up order 02/01, and called the day after 02/02 and was told the Manager/person in charge is not available. 02/05 no emails or calls returned. No one is able to assist in restaurant. 02/10 no reply to email 02/21 Twenty days later - reply back from Owners Assistant (customer service at it’s finest) Resolution: if you made a complaint before regarding an entree/dish then you have no right to make a complaint about the odd smell in your mongolian beef, or the hair in your teriyaki beef with mushroom. The chefs who cook the food are honestly a hit or a miss. There are times when the food has a lot of flavor, and days where you have no idea what you’re chewing on. This is a restaurant in the neighborhood and we have been going to it since the real Jess opened the cafe. (Her food, her personality, her customer service was top notch. We had zero complaints!) Sadly we give this place a chance once in a blue moon, and this is the outcome. Restaurants these days should consider themselves lucky to have customers. Your customers make the restaurant, and without your customers you’ll twiddle your thumbs and loose out. No matter what the opinion is, it’s never ok to have hair in a dish, and question what the heck you are chewing. New owner seems to be ok with charging the customer an arm and a leg, but it’s not OK to accept a complaint. Save yourself the hassle and choose the restaurant Li Hing across the street on Belmont, closer to Menard.

First time here. Service was a bit slow after we finished because the staff all took lunch around 2 pm. We ordered Kung Pao Shrimp abs Pepper Steak. The Kung Pao was tasty, but not quite right. Should have had a bit more kick and less sugar. The Pepper Steak tasted like the Kung Pao should have and was perfectly seasoned. Generous portions. Kung Pao a bit heavy on zucchini and missing some of the more interesting vegetables usually included like baby corn. Plenty of shrimp. Only other comment is regarding the menu. They offer many different Asian cuisines and the menu is huge. Pictures would help encourage people to try new dishes. Prices on the high side.

Every now and again I crave good Chinese but I’m on the northwest side. Ordered Szechuan chicken extra spicy, mapo tofu and Vietnamese iced coffee. Chicken was tasty and tender, coffee had the right flavor and tofu the right texture. Chicken was not spicy at all. A quarter of the coffee was in the paper bag along with at least a full cup worth of ice that was then inside a plastic bag…which did leak. Tofu was in a mildly savory and not terrible brown sauce. I want Jess to be good- it’s a huge menu and a local business in a sea of Mexican and Thai/sushi I’ll try again next year.

I came across Jess Cafe about 3 years ago when I was looking for an Asian restaurant that would deliver. Everything was either closed or had bad reviews. Jess Cafe is now my go to and I haven’t gone to any other Asian fast food place since.

They have so many dishes and drinks to choose from. They serve Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, and much more. The dishes aren’t authentic but it’s delicious either way. Not too greasy and I never end up feeling sluggish or tired after a meal. The servings are big, I always end up with leftovers which still taste good the next day.

When I place an order for delivery I get my food on time every time with the exception of the first time which I got the wrong food and ended up having to wait two hours total to get my correct order. After this honest mistake I never had a problem with my deliveries again.

When I dine in the food comes out fast and the only thing I would say they need to work on is being more attentive to all guests. I usually dine with my 5 year old son and we tend to get forgotten and end up waving servers down. I completely understand that a large table of adults might have a larger check but a party of two including a child should get the same level of service. Once I place my drink and appetizer order I have to look for a server to take my entree order and then to bring my check. This doesn’t mean I want someone to be at my table every 5 minutes but at least check back so I can place my order. Aside from this the staff is very friendly so maybe just get one or two more servers during your busy times.

Overall I love this place and won’t stop going or getting delivered from here, I just hope they take my advice. I look forward to...

Jess Cafe is a reliable spot for a quick and satisfying Chinese meal. While not claiming to be gourmet, it definitely surpasses many of the other Chinese restaurants in the immediate area. One of the strongest points is the sheer breadth of the menu. Whether you're craving classic General Tso's chicken, a flavorful noodle dish, or something a bit more adventurous, you're likely to find it here. The vast selection means there's something for everyone, which is a big plus for groups with diverse tastes. The service is consistently quick. Even during busier times, orders are taken and delivered with efficiency. This makes Jess Cafe a great option for a fast lunch or a no-fuss dinner. The food quality is definitely above average for the area. The ingredients seem fresh, and the dishes are prepared with a decent level of care. While not every dish is a knockout, the overall consistency is commendable. Why not a 5-star rating? While the food is good, it doesn't quite reach that "exceptional" level. It's a solid, dependable choice, but perhaps lacks a certain finesse or unique flair that would elevate it to the next level. Overall, Jess Cafe is a strong 4 out of 5 stars. It's a great option for a tasty, fast, and reasonably priced Chinese meal. If you're looking for a reliable local spot, Jess Cafe is definitely...
