Tacos El Tio — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

Horrible service I experienced today, they made me felt my money was not good enough. Before going in I read the reviews but honestly I wanted to give it a try... What a wrong choice, so we got there we sat down 5 minutes later the waitress gives us the menu, 10 minutes later 2 young man walked in and sit all the way to the back, there was only one waitress working, OK so after 5 minutes she passes by our table with a basket of chips n goes all to way to the back n serves the young man .. I was like 😱😡 my first question was why???? We got there first we were sitting right by the entrance there was only 3 tables, us a couple of ladies n the young man .. So my money was not good enough for them ???? The waitress was a young lady so I figure she wanted to serve the guys first even tho me and my daughter got there first .. So I walked out, I don't know what the hell was she thinking,. One thing owners need to remember, in order to have business and be successful your service has to be good. The people that work for you also need to know that .. I'm not disrespecting anybody, my parents had a business (restaurant) and one of the most important things was good service without it you have no business.... Never giving them another chance .. 0...

This is a familiar location for what used to be IHOP. IHOP closed a while back and as the restaurant went through a transition, the cooking changed a bit until it became a Mexican Restaurant. It did close for a while as things were going through the transition.

Today when you look on Google Maps, you will not see the restaurant prominently but need to magnify the image.

The name is somewhat misleading because they have a full menu complete with tacos.

The pricing is a bit high and you need to pay extra for the chips - something that is usually just given away.

My concern, when I first tried to see what is served, was what was on the menu.

In Google Maps when you click on the menu, you get several pictures. This is not a menu. So to help them put I put the photos of their menu in the review. Now you can see the variety of items they serve.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice and the server is good at what she does. I would have liked to see less pictures of the owner and more pictures of the food they serve.

As far as the food.... The eggs were good but the beans were very watered down. Not really that great and the cheese on top was not very plentiful. The rice was decent but didn't have the usual...

I placed an order for pickup. Was told it would be ready in 15 mins. When I arrived I waited in line behind one other person for (another 15 mins) who was being rang up for his order. After he was finally able to pay for his order I stepped forward told the cashier I was here for a pick-up order & my name. She looks over at my order checks it then turns back around & begins to attend another customer. She take his name & grabs his order & rings him up first. I said excuse me to the cashier & asked if my order was ready? She said "yes" So asked why is she ringing up this other customer before me & I've been standing in line a lot longer than him? She smiled & just continued ringing him up while my food sat on the counter getting cold. I'm assuming it was because I was the only WHITE GUY in there. Maybe this is why I was discriminated against & other customers were allowed to jump in front of me & receive their food first. I will never go to a place that treats their...
