This is a friendly, humble, hidden Peruvian gem. This spot is no frills and straight forward. It's about the food and family living room feel. Rocoto is small - about 11 tables - with 2 large tvs that were surrounded by men after work, quietly enjoying fĂștbol, converting a few tables into a viewing area, and having Peruvian soft drinks, like inka kola and kola inglesa. This place is BYOB and doesn't serve alcohol. Our waitress, Tracy, answered all of our questions and was very sweet. I told her I wanted real Peruvian home cooking and she made great recommendations. I LOVED their "bites" menu which allowed us to try their entrees in smaller portions, which are actually more like normal portions! This is a great option for me as someone that doesn't eat huge meals and made it an affordable dinner (both of us had left overs). The food is delicious, authentic and satisfied m partner beyond her picky expectations (her grandmother is a Peruvian Chef, so she's a tough critic.) We had the Tallarines saltado de carne, AjĂ de Gallina, Cau Cau and lomo saltado. All yummy and came out steaming fresh, made to order. I'd add extra onions and tomatoes in the lomo if you're into that since it was heavier on the fries. Other than that, food is a solid 8/10. Please get the house ajĂ. It's is so good. It's not very spicy and very savory and flavorful green sauce for every meal. I ordered 8 oz. Of it to go. 😂 We went crazy and also ordered dessert. The Mazamora, mixto con arroz con leche, combining 2 desserts traditionally served side by side, topped with cinnamon. The purple side is like a fruit pudding made from purple corn, and filed with pineapple pieces, plums and cloves. This has the the same flavor as the drink “chicha morra”. Paired with a creamy, sweet rice pudding with raisins, the dessert was a perfect balance of sweet, creamy and fruity. It was hearty, so make sure you leave space for it or take it home to enjoy later. (Pro tip: ask for it warm) All-in-all, if I can't come in, I'm ordering on grubhub and enjoying it at home. I'm definitely a fan now and will be back!

I have the worst experience in this place. First take them so long to make my stake and not only that I got a hair in my plate the service didn't say nothing First just take the Plat and not even apologize. And later he comes back saying he will make another one I already lose my appetite from been mad and hungry.

Abuela says it tastes like PerĂș đŸ‡”đŸ‡Ș!!! We had a great experience at Rocoto, we ordered ceviche, jalea, Tallarin Verde with steak, and had picarones for dessert, even the coffee was delicious, tastes like home! Thank you!

Today I wanted to try a new place I was excited from some of the reviews I seen so I called in a pick up order over the phone. An appetizer 2 entrees and a desert which I feel 75 dollars was a bit expensive. They told me over the phone 20-25 mins my order would be ready. I lost track of time and rushed up there 40 mins after my call, sure that my order would be ready. When I arrived the cashier couldn’t find my order and looked at a few receipts then on the computer and tablet for orders and then asked me if my name was someone else. I told him. I and repeated my name then he said he had nothing for me. He opened his cell phone and found the order and said oh he forgot. Then he told me if I wanted it it would be another 10 mins. Although upset that I rushed over to the restaurant for no reason and now had to wait those 10 mins turned into 18 mins and then charged me like nothing. The man who seemed to be the owner asked the cashier if I made an order and he told hi. I just made an order that they were making it. After paying the 75 and getting home the tallarines verdes were very bland almost no flavor I don’t know if that was because it was made in a rush or if that is what they taste like normally although the breaded steak was good as well as the anticuchos. The steak in the lomo saltado was undercooked which is fine for me but since it was for my 10 year old son it wasnt appetizing for him. Honestly I think the issues with the food was because they rushed because they forgot my order which is unfortunate because I was looking forward to...

The food is awesome but the family or staff there is pretty awful. Their service is pretty crappy they are super rude. We ordered on their app one time and went to get the food and they never got the order. They said better to call it in. Fine I get it small place want to go the old fashioned way.

Our next order, we called it in. Get there to pick up after they said it would be 20-25 mins. First of all the lady is just sitting there eating in the middle of the aisle and don’t even greet the customer or take care of you. Wife finally asked about our order and the lady I guess remembered her and she said something like, “we don’t have you order you didn’t learn your lesson from last time?”. Are you serious lady we called and some fella took the order over the phone. And your incompetent business never put the order in. TWICE!! Wife waited another 20 mins and the dude comes out and asks “what was your order again?” Okay now wait another twenty mins for the food to cook for. That point.

The food is great. I’ll change my review if y’all get your heads out your butt cracks, because right now y’all’s face just stank with awful service. The cooks are doing a...
