Moonflower — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

EDIT #2 - my husband didn’t leave a review. Looks like we aren’t the only ones who have had issues. Just going to leave it at that.

EDIT - I have to change my rating. Since my original review, we’ve been about 10 more times. Service is very hit or miss, we’ve had experiences where wait staff is rude and left us feeling uncomfortable. Tried to celebrate our 1-year anniversary there this morning. Called ahead of time to make sure the patio was open (they’re pretty strict and we’ve had issues before with patio seating, so we always call ahead). We walked the 20 minutes to get there and the waitress refused let us sit at the tables because they weren’t ready yet but the tables and chairs were all out. She didn’t say anything else. We stood there awkwardly another few minutes thinking she’d give us an update, but it was clear she didn’t want us there. We told her we’d called before but she said she was the only one there. Idk if she was saying we were lying or what. We brought our dog so had to walk the 20 minutes home. We would’ve been happy to wait if she needed more time, but that was never given as an option. It really confused us. This is the third time we’ve felt like our business is an imposition and that we are unwelcome. Also had a bar tender tell me “we don’t do that here” when I asked for a fruitier drink recommendation.. It’s a bummer - we want to...

I am pretty much a regular at Moonflower at this point. I am probably a bit biased because I am friends with the staff.. but I am very particular about a lot of things & Moonflower is a great place to get an interesting & unique cocktail crafted with intention or a beautifully made classic made right every time.. All at fair prices that don't make you feel guilty for going out on a Wednesday or a Sunday night. The whole team there is lovely & they all are passionate about their craft. As a small business owner myself, I love to support this establishment because I know what sacrifice and hard work went into making it such a special place. I have also been loving the chef's creations and evolving menu. All around; crushing the vibe. My friends and I went here recently after we attended a pop-up art show at Howling Pages, a new indie comic book and graphic novel store.

It was such a beautiful day. We saw outdoor dining at Moonflower but no one at the tables. When I inquired inside, they immediately came outside and set up a table for us.

Two of us ordered the "Really Good Manhattans," and they easily lived up to the name. My friend Melinda isn't a beer or whiskey drinker, so she asked for a custom drink, and they accommodated her. She was impressed by how delicious it was.

The food was wonderful, and our server was engaging and helpful. We sat in the warm wind and listened to the buzz of traffic and watched the bounce of people on the sidewalk, so happy to be out on a...
