Since I’ve moved to the city, this has been my favorite go-to neighborhood bar. The food is amazing, some of the best wings that I’ve had thus far.
However, today, I encountered a complete lack of professionalism. I walked in and the bar is busier than normal. As I’m walking in, I overhear the morning bartender say “ yeah, I don’t know why we have to many black people in here” I ignored it because I was still craving my salad.
Once again granting grace because I understand people are ignorant and the place is semi-busy. Upon sitting down, I did notice a table of women behind me. Yes, they were.
The bartender is still lollygagging at the bar talking about her past birthday etc. all the while, I still haven’t been greeted or acknowledged. Still granting grace.
She delivers the food to the table, and as people do, they are asking for condiments. The bartender has to repeat and say “she wanted to hand out the food first” Completely understandable.
She then passes by me again and no acknowledgment. She makes it back behind the bar then the phone rings, she proceeds on the phone, forgetting her volume “I have a table of black women here….” realizing how loud she may have been she then steps into the kitchen.
At this point, I walked out. Please coach your morning bartender on couth, discretion, and professionalism.
Everyone can have their opinions; however, while you’re on the clock and in a place of business, your service should be cohesive.
Or at least step outside to take your phone calls like she normally does.

Read moreVery cool old fashioned bar and pub. The bartenders are usually really cool and generous. The food is good, especially their Friday fish fry and their Rueben rolls, yum. The manager is a little on the quiet side, very reserved but nonetheless does a fantastic job running the place. The remodeling they did a few years back is pretty awesome, adds a nice Irish pub motif to the place, more so than before. The outdoor patio is an extra bonus, especially when it’s really nice outside, or when it’s busy in the inside. My wife and I walk here, as we are only about a block away. They have live music from time to time, which is really cool and a change of pace. Highly recommended and is a treat for the area. You might just run into one of your neighbors here, if you live in this close knit...
Read moreNot much to add here that hasn't been said by others already, and said more eloquently. Paddy Macs has been a neighborhood joint for a long time, but in the past few years it has really hit it's stride. The beer selection ranges from above average to impressive in it's variety and rotation. The cook has been there since we first moved into the 'hood and is as reliable as they come. The people that frequent the place are varied and pleasant. Live music on Saturday nights is always a nice experience. TVs, sports, jukebox, all are great. The people tending bar are always chatty and friendly. In short, Paddy Macs exceeds expectations in every way that matters. We always feel welcome and are happy when we pay the bill. I hope it stays this...
