The owner was too busy with his phone to get out of the chair in the back room for 10 minutes, so I left..
I received a response from the owner about not speaking up while waiting, about not choosing kindness or understanding..
Sorry, not going to buy in to your argument or join you in a tug of war...
For me, this is a simple customer service / communication issue.
I have since been reading the other reviews and the owners responses to customers.
In one post, this business owner actually rated the customer at one star.
While this might allow the business owner to feel superior to the customer, it definitely is about burning bridges and building walls by this business owner.
Lots of blame shifting, minimizing and not accepting responsibility.
It clearly comes across as a business owner incapable of looking into the mirror 🪞.
Sorry, I don't respond well to emotional blackmail either:
F Fear O Obligation G Guilt Tripping
It was not lost on me, when entering and leaving this business, there is a bell 🔔 yet no response from the guy in the chair in back.
As far as I am concerned, it's not my job, to get people out of the back room. That's what the bell is for or security camers.
Perhaps, with you having MS, it's time to consider a different line of work, instead of arguing with customers?
Not sure, maybe I need to be more rude and start yelling inside the restaurant, to get your attention, while waiting to get someone up front just to take an order?
If I was the guy in the back room, with a customer yelling up front, that would probably 🤔 piss me off.
I was simply tired, hungry and just left the Irish American Heritage Center, where there was no parking..
Ultimately, I went to Mr Submarine on Cicero after Romas beef.

Read moreI got the Chicago style hot dog with the french fries and my aunt got the Cheese Pizza with cheese fries and a fountain drink. The hotdog and both the normal fries and cheese fries were REALLY good like a 9/10 for me I did not try the cheese pizza but it looked kinda dry and old however the pepperoni pizza looked really good and looked tasty and not colorless like the cheese pizza did. As for the drinks they had your standard can or fountain style drinks offering Coke and Pepsi products they also had some "signature" house made fountain drinks which where lemonade, grape ape, and fruit punch which all tasted pretty bad tbh very sugary but watered down at the same exact time those were not good at all but I went with just the classic Coke. As for customer service the guy at the register was kinda clueless to his own menu, was a good guy didnt have an attitude or nothing just kinda seemed like he didnt really know where he was working and kind of lost while taking my whole order he accidentally added items i never even ordered to my order like once or twice but I guess mistakes are ok, overall GREAT food but "mehhh" customer service, kind of overpriced too, but I would get it again. Overall...
Read moreI had ALWAYS eaten the infamous Italian beef from Romas. My son and I stopped in there after shopping and I had my mouth watering for romas Italian beef, only to learn that they had a NEW owner, he was exceptionally friendly and expressed how he had made changes to the PEPPERS That PREVIOUSLY made the Italian beef a GREAT SANDWICH because his daughter didn’t like the old peppers that the old owner was putting on the sandwich, so he allowed the opinion of a child to change how his business would thrive…my son and I decided to NEVER patronize this place again. The beef was over priced and the peppers that we BOUGHT for the sandwich were too, and don’t let me start on the twice cook fries that had been laying in the tray, I guess he didn’t want them to go to waste so WHY NOT recook them for(us) the next customer. If I could give Romas a 0 rating I would but unfortunately I can’t, I’ll buy my beefs from other establishments that DON’T change original recipes that’s brings PROFITS to the business because a CHILD says so, her decision DESTROYED the business in my opinion! People PLEASE...
