City News Cafe — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

The newsstand part of the place has been a Six Corners fixture for decades, but they've recently added the Cafe, expanding the appeal. The coffee is designed for maximum choice, as there are multiple beans available in light, medium, an dark roast, and multiple options on how you want to have that made up ... although the default appears to be a top-of-the-counter drip brew, with a filter in a ceramic drip cone. Admittedly, this is not the fastest means of getting one's coffee, but it's high-touch and provides a bit of a show. There are tables inside and a section in front of the store as well.

Frankly, there's not much else going in the neighborhood, so they're likely to have a pretty good business going there ... although I can easily imagine it getting to be cutthroat competition...

City News Cafe is straight outta the 90s for me and I couldn't love that more. Coffee is the best price in town and you can browse all of the reading options available. It feels like when all of the Barnes and Nobles disappeared, they took a piece of them and put it in City News Cafe. Our clerk was so friendly and informative about coffee options... Not to mention the free chocolate truffles that are made in house. This place has a the appeal of an old school cafe without the worry an over pretentious batista and solid choices of pastries and juices. The magazine catalogue has old school and new school releases with subjects ranging in every catagory... Even mature content. Absolutely love this place and the staff. Can't say enough good things about...

City New Cafe is a great little magazine shop /coffee shop,/weekend musical venue. The one thing most people don't know as every Saturday, and Sunday late morning they have musical artists come in and play live music. It's great to stop by and have a cup of coffee, enjoy a pastry and listen to the music offered every weekend.

If you don't do dairy, they do offer non-dairy options such as coconut milk, almond milk or soy. They also have some of the most delicious chocolate truffles made in the city! Perfect for gift giving! This is an absolute must when you come here. In fact, you get a free truffle with every coffee purchase!

They also offer local neighborhood newspapers that give updates on what's happening in those specific neighborhoods....
