Game On the River: Steph Made Our Night
My visit to Game On the River was nothing short of exceptional, and while the restaurant's atmosphere and river views were stunning, it was our server, Steph, who truly made the evening unforgettable. From the moment we sat down, her warm and inviting energy set the tone for an amazing dining experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us with thoughtful recommendations that made every dish we ordered a standout. Her passion for the food and her ability to describe it with detail and enthusiasm added a special touch that you don’t often find.
What really set Steph apart, though, was her ability to connect on a personal level. She wasn’t just there to take orders—she was there to make the night memorable. At one point, a lively debate broke out at our table about the Kentucky Wildcats and, let’s just say, their less impressive rival. Steph handled it like a pro, keeping the mood light and fun while settling the argument with the perfect line: "Cats by 90." Her quick wit and effortless charm made it one of the most entertaining moments of the evening.
Steph’s warmth and professionalism were so impactful that I’d honestly return just to see her again. It’s rare to meet someone who can balance genuine friendliness with such a high level of skill, but she made it seem effortless. In fact, she left such a lasting impression that I’m now seriously considering naming my future child Steph as a tribute to this beautiful yet entirely professional friendship. That’s how much of a gem she is!
If you’re looking for great food, a stunning atmosphere, and a server who will elevate your night to something truly special, Steph at Game On the River is your person. I can’t...
Read moreWe were a party of 4 with varying degrees of adventurous palates. It took some of our group a few looks at the menu to realize the only options were meatballs or burgers for the game choices, which initially disappointed some. For appetizers, we got the wild game nachos, which were okay, and the flatbread, which our friends liked except the tail on shrimp. (For $50 a person, the kitchen should take the time to pull the tails off!) Beer choices were limited, but the cocktails were fine. Once we got our dinners, the mood changed for the better! We had elk, yak, wild boar and antelope. All were juicy and flavorful. Each had its own flavor profile (we shared tastes), and pleased person who ordered the different one. Sweet potato fries, mac & cheese, and Thai brussel sprouts were also amazing. The dinner was certainly the highlight. When we return, we'll skip the apps and head straight to the entrees. (And maybe having room for the s'mores!) We ended up having to request a take home box anyway. The total bill was $100 for 2 with tip, appetizer, 1 drink each, entrees and 3 sides total. The portion size and quality of the entrees and sides met the the...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining here today and witnessed a situation that I feel compelled to clarify. While I was there, a group of customers were extremely rude, using profanity, and even threatening the server. Despite this, the staff, particularly the manager Ari, handled the situation with remarkable professionalism and composure.
The customers were clearly agitated from the start and seemed intent on causing a scene. I did not see any of the inappropriate behavior that these reviews mentioned. In fact, Ari remained calm and respectful throughout, despite being provoked. It’s disappointing to see such inaccurate and unfair reviews when the truth is, the staff was doing their best in a very challenging situation.
I highly recommend The Game on the River for its great food and excellent service. The staff deserves recognition for their hard work, especially in the face of such...
