I visited Los Cabos jenks location the afternoon of Friday, December 23, 2023. I'd visited many times before since I don't live very far from it. I even told my server how wonderful my last server was about a month before this visit. This time my server, Leah, seemed to not care much about anything but asked me if I was "tired". Which was a little embarrassing. I had been on vacation for about a week and had another week that was starting that day. The last thing I was, was tired, however I attempted to enjoy my time out. At some point she asked me the name of my last server maybe because I spoke so highly of her but the truth is that I'm a very fair person so I was looking for reasons to tip Leah (even though I felt slight microagressions coming from them) however Leah brought out the wrong dish and when I called a server over to let them know I wasn't happy. Then comes Leah staring me up and down and then back to the lunch plate repeatedly (without addressing me with any words) as if she wanted to argue. I had already decided to speak with a manager since I had specified my preferences more than once for Leah and I did so very kindly while giving the benefit of doubt since the establishment was very loud that day. But after giving you a chance to take my order correctly and also come back and apologize, and you approach me with obvious aggression instead, I prefer to speak with someone else. Roby was ultimately no better and I was told he is a manager. He went straight to Leah and told her that I had said, "she could have been a bit more attentive and pleasant" .. meanwhile, I had decided to go and pay at the bar while they were discussing things amongst themselves. I had had enough of the atmosphere there that day already. Before I know it, I'm practically bum rushed at the bar by Leah, Roby, Zack and a few other servers. It was embarrassing and I did not feel safe. Leah got very close to me and her and Roby handed me a $12 certificate and queso certificate for the trouble. Meanwhile, Leah is aggressively telling me to , "I'm sorry I didn't give you ALL my attention, you can tell me what's on your mind, you can come back to this restaurant because the other servers aren't like me, you can speak your mind" I looked around and seen how many of them had me surrounded at the bar and chose to get out of there. I will very likely give the gift card to a colleague and maybe even compare experiences. I really don't care to go back there while Leah and Roby are working there. My server before was a beatiful soul and an amazing server. I believe her name is Annabelle and she was in the hospital on that day. I had actually come into the restaurant not feeling my best when Annabelle helped me a month before Leah and Annabelle was the reason I left there feeling better than when I came. I literally left there with the complete opposite experience before. Also, when I told Roby about my experience with Annabelle he had the audacity to say, "oh, yeah, I think I remember her telling me- "whew, yeah this one is going to be a bit difficult". I was completely appalled that he said that to my face, when I never had a turbulent moment with Annabelle on my previous visit. We had an exceptionally smooth encounter the entire time. She suggested a drink and a meal for me right away, since I'd asked. They were both great! I actually left there holding back "happy tears" due to my encounter with Annabelle. I left there afraid after the encounter with Leah and Roby and Zack, etc. However, I may visit the BA location. I called there before I could leave the parking lot after dealing with Leah and Roby. I was shook up and wanting to speak with corporate or anyone. Dawn Battey was amazing at making an effort to rectify my terrible experience with jenks location and sent me out a gift card that I can use at any location. I appreciate you Dawn and BA Los Cabos. Dawn was VERY professional and intentionally listened to my story. Jenks I'm watching because I know what happened to me. Dawn sent me a $25 certificate,...
Read moreVisited about 7pm after a swim meet at Jenks. There were several adult parents and 20 high school kids. My review is from one of the adults' points of view. When we arrived, it was dead, and the restaurant was able to sit the kids as soon as they arrived in a back room. Since the coaching staff and a few parents sat a few tables from the kids myself and another choose to eat at the bar and get some food. Micheal was the person behind the bar and took our order, and the queso dip was prompt. I didn't order an alcohol as I was a DD and really don't drink. The bar was out of strawberry slurry, and that was a major bummer as a few others were trying to order drinks with it. It took 5 minutes to get our food, and it was hot and correct for both of us. By this time, the kids are all seated and ordering. My water ran out twice (sitting at the bar) and required me to request a refill. But that's only half the story. Now I understand on a Thursday night getting 20 high school kids and maybe 8 adults myself included may not be ideal, but I want to point out these are athletes who just spent 8 hours swimming in State Finals. They eat a lot and are hungry. Now I wasn't present for their ordering, but from what I can tell is each kid was rang up separately and incurred the mandatory gratuities. Fast forward to 9 pm, and I go to check on kids and 3 or 4 were just getting food after waiting 90 minutes, and their friends were finished already. There was one student that never got her food and was told her order got lost, and now the kitchen was closed, and even the ice cream she ordered wouldn't be available. I think in 90 minutes you should be able to prepare 26ish plates. Remember, these were teens. They didn't order a bunch of special items or requests. When it came time to pay, my friend and friend were now standing around the back room as the waitress frantically was trying to give everyone their bill and collect cards. The bill that was handed to me for the 2 teens was $34 and change. We gave our card and receipt back to the blonde waitress along with several others. When she returned, she gave back another person's card and receipt, which meant hunting down who's we had been given. The charge on the customer copy wasn't the same as she had handed to the student. Oddly, the final copy was a different price but didn't show their drinks. We ended up being charged $42 and change. I understand that being overwhelmed when returning cards to be signed is like herding cats. But it was very discombobulated.
My experience with my partner was pretty good, with the exception of no slurry as this was their 1st visit to Los Cabos. The kids were tired and some had to wait 90min for food if they even got any.

Showed up about 2hrs before closing with 20 teens and several adults. After 90min a few students were still getting food and one was forgotten. Credit cards were mixed up with...
Read moreI still remember when Los Cabos first opened its doors in 2005, back when the Riverwalk was just starting to find its rhythm. It was exciting—a little slice of Los Cabos, Mexico, right here in Tulsa, complete with live music and the promise of something special. That first visit was also my last—until now. In fact, it was the location of my very first date with my wife. Back then, I wasn’t even married yet, and now, nearly two decades, three kids, and a whole lot of life later, I finally returned.
Why did it take me 19—almost 20—years to come back? I honestly couldn’t say. I live close by, I drive past it nearly every day, yet for some reason, it never called me back. But today, for a business meeting, I decided it was time. Time may fly, but it also leaves its mark, and I could tell Los Cabos had aged—not in a bad way, but in a way that says, "I’ve been here, I’ve weathered the years, and I’m still standing." It was good to see it thriving.
At its core, the place felt the same—so much so that I had mixed feelings. Nostalgia is a tricky thing. While I was hoping the food hadn’t changed, something about it wasn’t as vibrant as I remembered. The menu was crowded with options—so many that it felt like it was trying to be everything at once. We settled on some lunch specials, and I had just enough time for a quick walk to the restroom and back. The décor? Still holding onto its character. That, I appreciated.
But the food. Ah, the food. I hate to say it, but my tacos leaned more Tex-Mex than the Mexican flavors I had once associated with this place. The sauces lacked punch—one had spice, sure, but it missed the basics, like salt or even a whisper of garlic. It all teetered on the edge of fast-food quality, at least in the case of the tacos I had.
Would I come back? I think so. Some places earn a permanent spot in your heart, not necessarily because of the food, but because of the memories attached to them. For me, Los Cabos will always be the setting of my first date with my wife. I just wish they would lean into more authentic, standout dishes—the kind that make people fall in love, not just with the atmosphere, but with the flavors themselves.
That being said, the service was top-notch. Our waitress was a powerhouse—genuine, kind, and always keeping our drinks filled without us having to ask. And the bathrooms? Exceptionally clean and well-kept (which, let’s be honest, can make or break a restaurant experience).
So yes, Los Cabos is still a gem—but maybe one that could use a...
