Velvet Freeze — Restaurant in Jennings

Warning: Only visit this location if you want to be treated like a piece of trash & your money doesn't mean anything!! Worst experience I've ever had. I am from St. Louis but moved out of state 20 years ago. Every time I come home (2-3 times a year) I visit Velvet Freeze for candies, chips, and other things I can't get in my state. I was in town and on 6/8/17 made a stop. After I received my items I went to my car, unwrapped my ice cream cone, took 2 licks and went back inside. The strawberry ice cream was not real strawberry ice cream and it had the worst taste. The lady was so rude. She told me it's too bad I don't like it, there is nothing she can do. All I wanted was a different scoop of ice cream, I wasn't trying to get a refund or anything. She said they don't take back food & it is strawberry ice cream. She said maybe my taster was off. Needless to say I left the ice cream cone sitting on the counter & left. The customer service this lady gave was so unprofessional. I couldn't believe she refused to do anything for me. Now I have to go through filing a police report & pressing charges because at this point the state I live in said because I left the product there I should not have been charged. No one can make the consumer keep an item if it no good, freezer burned, ice crystal tasting. I hate to go this far over a $3 ice cream, but she will not be treating me any kind of way. Ordered a tornado(float) with sprite. Told they only have root beer and orange. Got a large orange. Got to the car took a sip, the soda was 100% flat. Went rite back in and told them, the lady said they don’t do refunds, asked could I exchange they said no, that is similar to refund, and that it’s like I would be getting something for free. I stated it was not as the product I purchased was not up to par. The worker poured out the ornate soda opened a new vess that did not fizz at all. She let me touch it to see that it was cold. I asked her was it expired she said no but would not let me see the bottle. I asked them to throw it away, she asked if I wanted to eat the ice cream out of it, I them no the stale soda ruined the taste of the entire thing. This was not a cheap tornado it was roughly $9 and the coo was not big. We also purchased cotton candy ice cream that tasted weird, and that’s from a kid who eats that flavor Frequently. We had also purchased separate vess for drinking which were pulled from a separate fridge, hopefully there are not flat as well. This fridge is on the right, the flat sodas are in the left fridge. Overall we spent $30. I have been coming here on and off since childhood, I am not a happy customer and they should do better as we (community and old customers)are keeping them...

I can't believe the way I was treated by the white elderly lady that sits behind the counter I'm not sure if she is the owner or not but the service was horrible, I decided to come there to treat my nieces and nephew to ice cream they arrived later than I but once they did she locked the door on them and I asked why she said to many ppl inside which it was way more ppl in there that left out before my nieces and nephews arrived then she told me if I unlock the door to let a customer out they can come in and she was sitting right by the door I told her I don't work there so she let the customer out and locked the door back so I try to unlock it to let me family in she said u leave out I'm not letting you back in I'm not sure because I'm black that she treated my like that or what but it was so bad that the white couple behind me left out and apologized to me for how she treated me. I would never go there again. Very POOR...
