When I arrived today, I was feeling pretty down, definitely sorting through some stuff. When I came in, I didn't have the capacity to put too much thought into what I wanted to drink, so I told the fine gentleman behind the counter, to surprise me. Just something with espresso, immediately the gears started turning in his head. Now, I've ordered like this from many a coffee shops, usually I get something from the menu, via thinking very much in the box from the individual receiving the request. But as Chad went to work on his artistic expression, very much in the zone, it took about 10 minutes, until he handed me a glass, and began pouring. I was mesmerized to see the foam and espresso vortexing over the ice. The smell of peppermint filling my sinuses, and the carbonated foam climbing elegantly up the glass. As the pour was finished, with the clearly pleased, exuberant face smiling at me, awaiting my reaction. I raised the glass to my lips, and initiated the first sip. Immediate fireworks. The flavor akin to a glittery peppermint patty . But the experience didn't stop there, and the surprise was the gift that kept on giving, as I continued to consume christmas in a glass, the cooling peppermint sank, and climbed , further into the core of my being, as well as up my cerebellum, the soothing peppermint permeating every bit of negativity I had been feeling. In summary, I highly recommend this establish to anyone, and everyone. As they provide food and nourishment, for not only the mind and body, but the soul as well. If I could rate 10 stars , I would. Thank you Chad, for the much needed pick me up, may every soulfull individual find resonance, and feel the magnetic allure , for the fullbeing experience that you offer....
Read moreJust got back from from an Arizona vacation and I had to look up the reviews of the Flat Iron Grill in Jerome. I notice most are 5 stars but some stand out as 1 star for the rudeness encountered. Unfortunately, my party got the rude treatment. Our party of 4 sat at the only table that could seat a group this warm spring day. As we looked at the menu, a large wasp began to buzz near my wife and on the window behind her. Her natural reaction was to try to swat the bug with the menu in her hand. This was seen by the cook behind the counter and resulted in him SCREAMING at my wife from across the room...."LET US TAKE CARE OF THAT!", "NEVER SWAT A WASP! iT RELEASES PHERMONES THAT MAKES THEM ANGRIER!"..."THAT'S A 100 YEAR OLD WINDOW!..."THE SPCA SAT AT THAT TABLE LAST WEEK!".... So my wife was completely publicly humiliated and embarrassed. Our party was shocked and upset..AND MY WIFE WAS STUNG ON THE ARM BEFORE THE GUY CAREFULLY CAUGHT THE BUG IN A GLASS AND RELEASED IT OUTSIDE. HER ARM WAS SWOLLEN AND ITCHY THE REST OF THE TRIP. The server was somewhat remorseful at the treatment my wife got and tried to apologize and provide ice for her sting but the guy from behind the counter was a COMPLETE JERK, more concerned about the wasp and his window than the customer. By the way, the entry screen door was so poorly fitted, any bug(s) could easily fly right back in. I wonder how the health department would feel about that? Nice area of Arizona to visit but I don't recommend anybody take a chance on being verbally abused in this place. AND TO TOP IT OFF THEY GOT MY WIFE'S ORDER WRONG! Couldn't get out of there...
Read moreI recently moved to town and after ordering my coffee I asked Chad what sort of things locals are into. Y'know. A normal, friendly conversation starter for someone who's getting familiar with their new surroundings. A flip switched in Chad's face and he immediately became combative. Not passive aggressive, not slightly rude. Combative.
He scoffed and in a disgusted voice asked me "why did you move here??". Not a friendly, "oh what brings you to town", sort of question. But a defensive, and angry "how dare you move here" sort of tone.
After an extended exchange of snide unpleasantries he managed to pull himself together and act like a normal human. But Chad, if you're reading this, you made me feel very unwelcome. It was very hurtful to be bullied by you when I was just trying to be a nice new neighbor.
I get that you're protective of the town and I may be an ignorant outsider in your eyes. But those outsiders are keeping your business alive and paying your bills. Besides, I'm hardly an outsider. You said you've been here 17 years? My family moved to the Verde Valley when I was 7 and I'm 34 now. I've got a good decade on you, bud.
Pettiness aside, I'd check your ego and do some soul searching. Find out what made you decide to treat me the way you did. It must be exhausting living with such a chip on your shoulder. If you're so bitter about your customer base then do something else, bro. There's enough negativity in the world as it is.
Coffee was...
