During Covid: I had a good experience here,. The waiter was doing a great job and keeping his distance, the food was cooked quickly, and it was a good experience overall...
Manchow Soup: Surprisingly an amazing soup! If your into Hot & Sour soup, you will love this! Its an Indian-Chinese dish, where I didn't expect it to be so familiar, great aroma and was a strong taste of ginger. Spicy yet, not as spicy, so you can easily eat it without looking for water. The also give a side of crispy noodle to compliment the taste. Its so good, I will also take the time to learn to make this at home.
Vegetable Samosa: Crispy and crunchy, this samosa was very good. The spices were very strong and made the dish even more interesting. The size themselves were huge, I ended up taking out home. Definitely going with no meat is better as you can enjoy traditional Samosa in all its glory.
Tandoori Chicken: An authentic and tasty dish. The spices were pretty and it was marinated for quiet a bit of time judging by the taste. All the spices seeped deep into the meat. The chicken was extremely soft, perfectly cooked and easily melted into your mouth. In no way I was paid for this review, but it was just that good.
Shrimp Gassi: I never had this before, but it was very good. Hard to describe the taste, but its was a good mixture of spices with a tangy seafood taste to it, due to the shrimp.
Butter Chicken: I am used to eating butter chicken that is spicy, but this butter chicken is sweet and tastes absolutely delicious! The spices and the butter, you can taste every little bit!
Naan: Freshly made naan bread, nothing more to say. It had a great buttery taste and nice...
Read moreI am utterly appalled by the horrendous experience I had at Curry On restaurant in Jersey City, New Jersey. It's not often that one encounters such a shocking display of incompetence and insensitivity in the culinary world.
I placed an order for a simple veg Szechuan triple fried rice, a dish that even a child could understand. But it seems like the staff at Curry On must have been too busy daydreaming to comprehend a straightforward request. Instead of the veg I explicitly ordered, I was served a plate of chicken Szechuan triple fried rice. Yes, you read that correctly – chicken Szechuan fried rice. This wouldn't be a big deal for most, but for someone like me who follows a vegetarian lifestyle due to deeply-held cultural beliefs, it's an absolute slap in the face.
As if the culinary catastrophe wasn't enough, the staff's complete lack of empathy and understanding left me speechless. When I pointed out the mix-up and explained that I am vegetarian by caste and do not eat meat, the response I received was a mere shrug and a muttered apology. It's clear that customer satisfaction and basic human respect mean nothing to the people running this establishment.
I urge everyone to steer clear of Curry On restaurant. Their inability to comprehend dietary preferences and their disregard for their customers' values is astounding. This place is a shameful representation of the restaurant industry and a testament to how not to treat patrons. Spare yourself the disappointment and frustration – dine elsewhere. There are countless other restaurants in Jersey City that deserve your time and money far more than this pitiful excuse for a dining...

Rating: ⭐ (0/5 stars)
I wish I could give this place zero stars after the horrendous experience I had. Here's a rundown of the nightmare that unfolded:
The food was an insult to both taste buds and patience. We had to wait 35 minutes for an inedible starter and another 45 minutes for a main course that tasted like cardboard. Even worse, numerous reviews report finding cockroaches in the food. Enter at your own risk! The starters were practically raw. It's like they didn't even bother cooking them. The owner treated the staff with utmost disrespect, barking orders and humiliating them in front of customers. His behavior was absolutely appalling. To top it all off, they slapped us with an outrageous 18% gratuity (about $50) for their abysmal service. The cherry on top? The money doesn't even go to the hardworking waitstaff; it goes straight to the greedy, unscrupulous owners. Save yourself the misery and avoid this place at all costs. There's no reason to subject yourself to such a horrendous experience when there are far better...
