I was really looking forward to trying this place out...I mean who doesn't love a buttered lobster roll!?! Total disappointment! No table service which normally im fine with but for those prices vs the portions? It's the kind of place where you have to get up each time you want something. ...even a napkin. The staff was not friendly at all. I ordered a margarita which is $10 for literally 2-3 sips and it was very sweet. Then ordered the buttered lobster roll which I was craving but unfortunately there was no flavor to it....no the bread nor the lobster nor the chips nor the coleslaw. ...everything was bland bland bland and for $24 you expect a chunky meaty portion but sadly it was very small and I was left hungry. Lastly with no table service and finding myself getting up even to just ask for a cup of water (everything is served on plastic ) they have the audacity to ask for a tip. Honestly it left me with such little satisfaction i don't think I'll be back. I felt stiffed with those prices and the food portions and flavors...
Read moreMy girlfriends and went out last night to try somewhere new in the JC area and it was my idea to try this place. It wasn't a pleasant experience, we're greeting in a welcoming manner, more of a matter of fact...the woman was just standooffish and just not pleasant. Keep insisting we sat by the counter instead of the bubbles. We ordered our food, the lobster bisque had a weird fishy/metal taste, and my mussels were edible, but with this two orders, the bill was $26 and some change. She never asked us would you like a drink with that or anything. Just not pleasant. She deferred us from going to their upscale restaurant next door ( as if we couldn't afford it) Honestly, there was not much of a price difference and at least you get serviced. She asked us to please throw away our trash, but it was funny because the other tables were not asked to throw the trash out. I mean overall I def. wouldn't go back....actually felt discriminated and just...
Read moreWent for the popular lobster roll and picked up on for take out when I got home the chips were burnt and so was the bread. Lobster burnt as well. It wasn't a nice experience but when I called the manager he was very nice and apologetic removed my charge and promised to take extra care of me next time I go and order from them. Which was nice to hear. I have to go back and see how the overall next experience will so for that I gave them the benefit of the doubt.
I recently went back and was given another lobster roll as a replacement. I'm glad I did because this time it was done correctly. The bread was buttery soft and blended well with the lobster. The chips were ok nothing to brag about but the lobster roll it self was good. Another item must buy when here are the soups I tried the clam chowder and it is the best clam chowder in Jersey City. Incredible taste...
