I visited Sam a.m. on a very rainy Sunday with my significant other and his son. When we went inside to place our name on the waiting list, we were told that we had to wait outside and that the wait would just be about 15 minutes. About 30 minutes passed and the rain was starting to become torrential. The hostess finally came outside and called our name alerting us that our table was ready. When we went inside we were seated at the first table on the left. About five minutes after we were seated, suddenly the hostess/restaurant had a policy change. Two Caucasian women and a few others were now allowed to wait inside of the restaurant. They were practically standing at our table where we were eating, staring at us impatiently from before we placed our order, throughout the duration of our meal. We continued to eat despite the impatient gaze of one (Caucasian) woman. When we had finished our meal and were waiting to pay the bill, I called the hostess over to inquire about the policy change that suddenly seemed to take effect when, specifically, the two Caucasian women entered the restaurant. She turned flush and began to stumble her words. She apologized and claimed she didnāt know how it happened that they were able to stand inside. I reminded her of how we, a woman and her baby, and a few others were asked to wait outside in the pouring rain. I expressed how unfair that was given that as soon as we were seated, others (that didnāt look like us) were not only permitted to wait inside sheltered from the rain, but were allowed to congregate around our table less than two feet away from us (one man literally stood right up against the back of my chair). This lack of care, service, and sensitivity to certain customers is both concerning and unacceptable. Needless to say, I will not be patronizing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI heard rave reviews about this place and I went there with my friends and I was totally disappointed. Actually disappointed is an understatement. I ordered the special of the day with a side of chicken and I got under seasoned eggs with chunks of over cooked pumpkin and under cooked cabbage in it. I have had a lot of omelettes before but none with pumpkin and cabbage. I can think of a hundred things you can put in eggs but cabbage and pumpkin aren't definitely not one of those. I didn't see a side of chicken so I asked for it, then comes a replay that they don't serve a side of chicken and they only add it to the omelette and mine didn't have it in any case. They didn't mention this at the time of ordering. I don't know why they even have it in sides when they don't serve a side of chicken. So its eggs with pumpkin and cabbage for breakfast. I have given up and started working on my unappetizing breakfast. The icing on the cake is me biting an egg shell. My friends asked me to send it back but I really didn't feel like waiting for another order of unappetizing food so i just decided to not complain and shove it down my throat and get over with it. Then the waitress pops up with my side of chicken and puts it on the table and walks away with out a "do you need any thing" or "how is the food". And here is the cherry on the top, the side of chicken happens to be a boiled piece of chicken with no seasoning whatsoever. No kidding!!! No wonder she slammed into on the table and walked away so fast. How in hell would anyone expect people to eat a chicken without seasoning or a sauce on it? Bad food is one thing, the sheer callousness about everything is appalling. They had a decent orange juice and that's about it. This is hands down the worst break...
