Stopped in a few days ago and chatted with Brian about some of their quintessential dishes and his suggestion of Traditional Banh Mi and Mini Eggrolls were spot on. I've had Banh Mi before in a few different spots here in Houston and theirs definitely ranks amongst the best in freshness and taste. The Mini Eggrolls were equally delicious but you better be hungry because the order comes with a lot. More than enough to satisfy most people. Lastly, I have to mention their absolutely delicious Thai Tea. Theirs by far is the best I've had in Houston. So much so that I had two. Though Brian will modestly say theirs is pretty good I would beg to differ and say it's amongst the best around. Overall, I was pleased with the quality of the food and drink as well as the service. This family owned restaurant run by Brian and his mother, Trang, is worth checking out for sure. I'm glad they're in my 'neck...
Read moreYo, if you’re craving a vibe as tasty as the food, this Tấm & Phở spot is your jam! The cơm tấm? Oh man, that broken rice plate comes with a pork chop so juicy it’s practically singing love songs to your taste buds. The fish sauce is the perfect mix of sweet, tangy, and “gimme more!” Meanwhile, the phở is like a warm hug in a bowl—broth so clear and fragrant you’ll want to dive in headfirst. The beef slices are tender, the herbs are fresh, and the noodles? Slurp-tastic! The atmosphere? Think lively Vietnamese street market meets your cool aunt’s house party. The staff are all smiles, cracking jokes while refilling your iced tea. It’s not Michelin-star fancy, but it’s fun, cozy, and the kind of place where you’re already planning your next visit before you’ve finished your meal. Highly recommend for a chill night out with...
Read moreClean spot and the food was okay, but overall the customer service was very mediocre.
Got the com tam thit nuong. Portion size was okay, but the cucumber was super bitter, meat was dry, and the fish sauce that came on the side wasn't seasoned. Fish sauce for this dish normally has garlic, sugar, chilies, or something to add. They did have samba and dried chilies on the side though. Pork should be in a wet brine so it isn't so brine when you serve it. Cucumber you can peel the skin and rub it together to get the foam w/ impurities out.
Hospitality wasn't there, very transactional. Three stars ain't a bad rating, just means they need to improve and keep going. I'll come back to see if they changed...
