4/14/22 THURSDAY 830pm….Hispanic male heavy set cashier RUDEST AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE CASHIER EVER ordered to go came in 830pm I asked if I could change it to dine in he tells me I need to be done by 8:50 knowing the business closes at 9 so he can leave on time. I let him know his own business hours and he proceeds to tell me he only get paid till 9pm at this point it’s SHOCK AND AWE!!! Then I received my meal he proceeds to tell me BBQ SAUCE OUT OF STOCK!! THIS IS HAWAIN BBQ!!! He tells me they had a big order and that is why they don’t have bbq sauce which to me is RIDICULOUS knowing I came here for BBQ!! So with that I asked for extra tonkuts sauce to compensate not having any Bbq sauce and he tells me I need to pay extra I tell him it’s not my fault your out of bbq sauce he still insists I pay for sauce unbelievable … WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! Then I’m eating my crab ragoons that had little to no cream cheese I show him he tells me they were free and I had no room to complain and it’s just the luck of the draw!! This guy is HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND HAS CHANGED MY VIEW OF THIS BUISNESS! !!COMPLETE AND UTTER SHOCK!! Tried reaching out to his manager 3x no pick up or call back!! So I’m originally from Hawaii but have lived in Houston for the past 10 years. Recently, my favorite Hawaiian restaurant in Humble has closed for whatever reason so I was very excited to hear that a Hawaiian BBQ grill opened up near me. I have tried it for the first time yesterday and today I actually went back for more!

Yesterday I had the katsu and barbecue plate combo. My favorite dish is hands down the chicken katsu. They nailed down the recipe pretty well.The chicken is very tender and the batter had that perfect crunch. If you’ve never had Hawaiian Food before, this dish is the perfect introduction to get you acquainted to Hawaiian food. The bbq chicken and sliced bbq beef were flavorful and tender. Only thing missing was a slight char.

Today I tried the loco moco... it wasn’t bad, but I have to say it was a miss for me. The meat was a bit over cooked and the gravy did not have much of a taste. There also wasn’t enough gravy to smother the burger. So I was basically left with a dry burger.

Other than that I still recommend to anyone who lives around the area. Very generous portions for under $10. I will definitely...

I absolutely love this place!!! Chicken Katsu with macaroni cold salad and rice are amazing in my opinion. They are a great "fast food" joint! And don't pretend to be anything more. You get your food at a great price, fast! The items taste good on their own but the meals really shine when combined with their perspective pairings! Hands down they have the best cold macaroni salad I have ever had, sorry mom! It would be a stand alone meal if they just added ham 😆😆!!!

I like their service, I have had many bad expierences through Uber eats when I ask for certain things in the comment box but never with Hawi, I honestly think they are the only ones who ever bother reading the comments! They also give you so much food for a very very fair price! My son and my nephew can share a mixed chicken platter and have plenty to fill their bellies, and they are 13 and 11...
