China Inn Cafe aka HotWok — Restaurant in Jersey Village

We ordered our food a 6:10p this Friday evening here it is 7:34p and we are still waiting. When I contacted the restaurant the person that answered seemed to care less we had been waiting over an hour. She said they had alot of orders and the weather was bad so give him some cushion. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant 2.9 miles from our home. $40 meal, and I'm pretty sure it will show up cold. Definitely will not order from them again in the future. Update: so our food arrived finally at 8:11 it was still hot however it was not worth the wait! I ordered general tso chicken/fried rice, chicken wings (8) their jumbo shrimp fried rice they advertise, 2 egg rolls, cheesecake and a 2 liter. For starters my husband loves chicken ..seriously he can eat it every day if he could. He almost spit theirs out. I thought he was being a little dramatic so I tasted it for myself. It was a no for me. They were just plain fried chicken wing. No seasoning at all. Hell not even salt and pepper. Disappointing. We fed the remaining to our dogs. Next the general tso's chicken had fairly large pieces, and a decent flavor to them with a bit of spice. That was the only rewarding factor. The fried rice on the side was way to salty. My husband said the jumbo shrimp fried rice was pretty good to him. I tried a little and it wasn't salty like the rice that was paired with the general tso's. I agreed it did not taste bad at all. They forgot our 2 liter and when I called the same customer I spoke with earlier answered said when I came in next time I could get one. Ugh no! She then said well we can take it off the bill, I agreed and asked if I would receive confirmation. Her response was when I looked at my bank statement I would see a different price. Hmm, their customer service is just like their food. A sure disappointment..please save your money you might...

When my rating choice it poor-fair, I mean poor. I ordered delivery from and they told me it would take about 30-45 mins, a usual wait time for take out. I ordered the wonton soup, shrimp lo mein, fried crab wonton puffs, happy family, and sweet and sour combination. The delevery driver knocked on my door out of breathe with a broken bag saying she tripped and there is soup at the bottom of the bag, then handed me the reciept. Everything that I ordered was cold as if it had been sitting on a counter all day. The lo mien noodles were way over cooked and everything I ordered that was fried was soggy like it had been sitting there for quit a while. My wonton soup tasted like they poured tap water on top of wontons. My fried crab wonton puffs had no crab in them, only cream cheese. I tore open about 3 of them and they were all only cream cheese. I called to complain and the lady had an attitude with me. She told me well ill give u 10% discount on your next order(as if i was going to order there again) or she would send out another order of the items i was unhappy with. She told me the fried food was suppose to be soggy. (are you joking me?) When I asked to speak to a manager she told me she was the manager (like I havent heard an employee use that one before). I asked her if she was serious about the customer service she was trying to porvide and she said, "yeah have a good night"

This is the worst place ever. I understand bad food gets sent out sometimes but a business should be able to make up for it with their customer service. An attitude and lying employees is only a gaurantee to a...

This is my second bad experience at this restaurant.

The very first I was basically being rushed into ordering because I was looking over the menu and asking questions about a particular sauce that’s in the broccoli and shrimp. The guy was very rude and acted as if I should know what sauce they’re using on this dish keep in mind this is my first time eating here.

Today was the final straw, I walked in with one customer who was already inside waiting to pick up food. While waiting another person walks in about 5 mins after me. Once the first customer who was already inside before me picked up his order the employee skips over me and goes straight over to the customer that walked in 5 mins after me to place her order. I politely interrupted to say “ that I had been standing here waiting to order sir” he the employee proceeded to ignore me and continued taking this other customer order. I told him that I will not be back and he just said okay! I could not believe that I was facing this type of customer service again. My family loves Chinese food but we will never order from this establishment again. I will spread the news about how bad customer service is here!...
