This location is far most the worst in Houston, Tx. They don't even know the difference between a breast and a thigh. I don't have transportation so I doordash a lot. This location is always having the Dasher wait longer than they are allowed. I have had to wait a while along with other complaining customers. The staff is entirely to young and obviously don't take their job seriously. When I do finally get my food, it's cold and the bag is full of condensation. The entire staff including management, needs to be retrained. I don't have a way to get back to the store to make it right. I paid for a breast and that's what I expected, a breast, twice. I still have my receipt from 5/10/2025. It's has been in my wallet since then, so some of the ink has disappeared. I don't have a paper receipt from today because I had this order doordashed to me. However, I have the actual conversation between the Dasher and myself. I spoke with manager Lar on 5/10/2025 @ 4:40 p.m. to inform her that my order was wrong. She ask that I come back for the breast, but that was impossible because that day I ubered to the location. She ask that I write her name on the receipt, and I could come back at my convenience to get a breast. Today, I ordered a two piece with a breast and Drumstick, with Mac & cheese, okra, 3 wings, and a pepper. They even forgot the pepper. The Dasher had to remind them. Again, they gave me a thigh instead of a breast. I don't eat thighs and I don't even want it on the plate with my other food. Therefore, the entire order is useless to me. Now I'm out of cash again from no fault of my own. Thighs are to fatty and bad for my health. Now I'm calling the store and I get no answer. The food there is always fresh. They just need to be taught the difference between a breast and a thigh. I'm expected to go to that location this weekend. Read moreI would like to start off first and state I have never ate Golden Chicken! Decided to give it a try because it is a new location and on the way to picking up my daughter from school! With that being said I wasn’t going to make a review at first, but I just have to. Let me start off with the ordering process. I’m in the drive thru making my order, took me a few seconds to look over menu with it being my first time, young lady was very nice about giving me a moment, once I decided on my food items I had to repeat several times. In the middle of me ordering my sides the young lady just completely stopped talking to me! I had to say hello and then repeat my order once again! Get to the window to pay, the wait time was actually pretty decent timing, I asked the young lady to repeat my order to me and she did and it was correct! She did not give me my total I had to ask! Then I paid and received my food. Get to the parking lot of my daughter school to wait for her to come out. Began eating my food and my chicken tenders, green beans, and roll are all cold! Looking for plastic utensils to eat with and nothing! Looking for my receipt nothing! So now I’m pissed because now I can’t eat anything until after my daughter gets out! I drove back to the location and ask for plastic utensils to eat my food with, and she gave me an hand full, I didn’t even meeting anything about my food being cold because now I’m on a time limit to get to work🤬 so I just drove off! Get to work to warm up my food and everything is just nasty to me ATP!!!! I’m over it!!!!! Let me not forget to mention my one piece of fried Catfish was just fried batter and a little meat!!!! Read moreI work in the area, and when this place first opened, our staff was excited and eager to try it. The energy was high, fresh food, friendly and efficient customer service, and long lines for both lunch and dinner. It was clear this spot was the NEW go-to.
Fast forward a few months, and the experience has taken a serious nosedive.
Now, you walk in and see employees playing around while customers are left waiting and ignored. The food? The service? Sluggish and frustrating. People are walking out because of the long wait times and lack of professionalism. It feels like a group of unsupervised teenagers are running the place with little to no oversight or accountability.
Two weeks ago, I decided to give it another shot and ordered lemon pepper wings (all flats). What I received were plain fried wings with lemon pepper seasoning lazily drizzled on top—not even close to the flavor or quality they once had. It was unappetizing, to say the least.
Today, I figured I’d keep it simple and just order a sweet tea with a lot of ice. Whoever made it must’ve missed the "sweet" part because it was nothing more than cold, flavorless tea. No sweetness, no balance—just disappointment in a cup. Paid $3.24
And to top it off, their gift card system is a joke. You can buy a gift card, but no one—not even the manager can tell you the balance. Whether you're at the drive-thru or inside, you're met with confusion and blank stares when you ask for something as basic as your card balance.
This place had so much potential when it first opened, but the quality, customer service, and overall experience have steadily gone downhill. Unless something major changes with the management and staff training, I won’t be coming back.
