We absolutely LOVE Spicy House!!
We are new to the area and stumbled upon this restaurant for dinner one of our first nights in town. That first visit, we got the cucumber salad as an appetizer, and Mapo Tofu along with an order of Orange Chicken! Firstly the cucumber salad was soooo yummy, and both entrees were fantastic and just beyond delicious!
We decided to come back a few nights later to try some other menu items, and I just could not stop thinking about that cucumber salad, so of course we got another order of that!! All the items we got during the second visit are pictured and labeled in this review!
And again, everything was perfect! Fresh, delicious, and great portions! The two stand out stars of this meal were the dumplings in chili oil and the SPICY fried rice!! I mean flavor explosion from both!! Honestly, out of this world!! They have really locked down the perfect balance of flavor and spice!! Kudos!!
We are certain this will be a regular/weekly dinner spot for us and we can’t wait to go back to try even more new things!! Also, I want to give a shout out to our waiter Kevin, who was just so awesome, friendly, attentive, and all around great guy! He made the dining experience that much more enjoyable!
Spicy House, Thanks again for being such a wonderful place for us to dine at, and just know y’all will be seeing us again soon...
Read moreA very solid Chinese restaurant serving freshly cooked Szechuan style cuisine. We took our family of 7 there and everyone enjoyed the different dishes. The flavors were great! with the egg noodles in the lo mein was freshly made because there’s a significant difference in flavor. The quantity was good for the amount of price you paid.
The reason why this restaurant doesn’t get a 5-STAR is because there are a couple Szechuan locations throughout Houston that are cranking out five star Szechuan cuisine.
Also the service is a four star. although there’s only three tables, the server was very busy to give good quality attention to filling water and being attentive to the dining in patrons. Maybe the to-go orders were keeping her very busy.
overall atmosphere is a three star. When you have no paper towels and no hand dryer and the urinal has a trash bag over it your restaurant gets docked points.
Note my rating system: 1 Star: I wouldn't recommend 2 Stars: Didn't hit my standards 3 Stars: Average (nothing special) 4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Still looking for the 5 Star. 5 Stars: Top of their game. Great food. Great service. Would recommend and plan...
Read moreDELICIOUS! We were so excited to try this new place and so happy we did! Wonton soup was amazing, ordered small but it was bigger than expected but happy it was! The broth is amazing along with the wontons. Pork egg rolls...If I could, I would order a dozen and the sauce its served with was out of this world. THE DUMPLINGS!!!!! OMG AND THE DIPPING SAUCE WAS , WELL NO WORDS, SOOOOOOO GOOOD! hubby had the combo lo mein, there was a small few bites left, if his belly was bigger there would have been nothing left. Please go visit this sweet family business so we can keep this Chinese place near us. Oh and the place itself is cozy and inviting, if I could rate above 5 it would be a 10! We had modelos to drink which we enjoyed after a long day. Highly recommend, go now! Service was excellent and...
