Toro has the most amazing food. The servers are great though a bit overworked (not their fault). The hibachi cooks are amazing. So why only one star? The manager here is horrible. I still can’t get one horrible time here out of my head. I came with my two daughter’s and met some family, six of us in total. We were here right at opening (1130am on a weekday), but it takes me a minute to get inside so my family member went first and let them know we had six in our party. The manager refused to even set the table or turn on the grill until we had all entered the building (a repeat occurrence) and was as per usual, very rude about it. Once we were seated, there was only one other party in the entire building. We have all come many a time, and my girls are young and special needs, so we ordered drinks and food the moment we sat down. They did not provide my daughter’s with plates (again, a repeat occurrence) so I asked for this right away as well. Half an hour later, we still haven’t been served. One daughter has received a plate, I’m still begging them for a plate for my second daughter, and they seat a party of four at our table. The tables only fit eight, and we were already six, so it forced one of my daughter’s off the table and the other to be seated next to a stranger. Our cook did not come until 1230 (TWELVE THIRTY GUYS, one hour after we arrived, despite ordering immediately, and having been only one of two parties in the building for the entire first half hour we were there). At this time, one daughter still had no plate and ended up having to eat her food straight off the table. The other daughter literally couldn’t reach her plate due to being forced off the table, and did not eat at all. Due to them placing so many people at our table, the server didn’t have room on the grill to mix our rice (this was not his fault) and our rice was burnt and unmixed. He also did not do any performance, and my cousin’s son who is seven and autistic was (of course) very upset by this. My sister spent the whole meal trying to keep my one daughter from reaching into the family they seated next to us’ plate and was unable to eat her food. My daughter was in her seat properly the entire time but we were so squished together, there was just no way to keep her out of his plate. I can’t blame her, she had no plate because they would not give her one and was eating off the table. We were so squished together that his plate was essentially in front of her, so she simply couldn’t understand. Of course by this point I was extremely upset and frustrated. I asked to speak to the manager (five times before she even came) and when she did, she was extremely rude and unapologetic. She said she has the right to seat us any way she wants. Then they had the gall to ADD GRATUITY TO MY CHECK OF THREE. One daughter literally was forced off the table, couldn’t reach her plate, and didn’t eat a bite. The other daughter was never given a plate and was so squished she was touching a stranger. AND THEY ADDED GRATUITY TO MY CHECK. Again, the manager never apologized nor did she offer any compensation for this disaster of an experience. I’ve tried to put this experience behind me but I just can’t forget my one daughter being forced off the table, and my other daughter having to eat off the table because they wouldn’t give her a plate.
Beware!!! The manager here...
Read moreUpdate 11/14/21, me and my girlfriend went to Toro’s last night to eat some good food and have a fun night out however; this didn’t happened. Normally the chef is entertaining and socially inclusive while preparing everyone’s food but this chef wasn’t. First he put everything on the grill at the same time to cook. When I say everything I mean everything! That was a first in all the years I’ve been coming to Toro’s that happened. He was clearly not invested in entertaining everyone sitting. From there it got worst because the other guest was a family of 6 who were of Mexican heritage. For the entire time he was there he socialized with them in Spanish and excluded use from the social experience in which Hibachi is to offer. That’s unprofessional in a open social setting when you have multiple groups of people you’re to serve and entertain. To top it off the vegetables were burnt because he didn’t clean the grill from the burnt oil and residue. Our server asked if we had fun and my girlfriend made it clear we didn’t. She also made a point to say that we received smaller portions of food compared to the guest he was socializing with and she wasn’t lying or Exaggerating. I’ve reviewed Toros on multiple occasions and this he is by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had here!
This is an Sept 2020 Update! Today we visited Toro's for my mother's Birthday and it was the best experience I've had at Toro's since visiting. I strongly recommend you request Jose as your cook and Kristy (may have spelled that wrong) as your waitress. Both are great at what they do and provide a very wonderful experience! Each are polite and very attentive to your party. Jose as a cook fixed everything perfectly. He handled the detailed request of having a vegetarian present and the food allergies of another to make everything work without a complaint. Kristy the waitress was on point with everything and very timely without being overly attentive. Be sure to have Cash to tip Jose being the cook doesn't receive tips from the Waitresses tip. 😐 In any case I highly recommend these two as a team to full fill an great dining experience!
Sept 2019: Let me start by saying if I had to rate Toro's by this visit it would get a 2star rating because the service and food was sub-par this time around. In addition to that I got sick 🤢 from the food soon after. With that said... Toro's is a very nice place to eat and visit. The food usually comes out prepared well and the service is usually good to very good. It can be a bit pricey but the experience and fun you'll have at the hibachi grill will be worth the cost. Some of the pictures I posted was from a previous visit in which was a...
Read moreI literally just left this place. WORST PLACE EVER! Rude a$$ waitresses that gives you attitude the entire time you are there. We came as a group and some of us did not want appetizers others did. This waitress told me no "you can't order I'm only taking sushi and appetizers right now".B!t** I don't want sushi and appetizers !? So I have to wait and watch everyone else eat until you say it's okay for me to order!? That's exactly what happened 😑 I sat there watching everyone eat their appetizers and sushi. 😑She vanishes and none of us get refills until we were pretty much about done. Then she didn't return the credit card to my sisters mother in law so we asked her for it. She finally locates the card. She placed it on the opposite side where another family was sitting. Then says "it's right here I don't know why you're saying I didn't give it to you". I told her how the h3ll is she supposed to know YOU left her card with another group!? She just walked away. THEN I tried giving a woman that was helping our waitress my brother in laws card for his meal and she says I'm not taking that, find your waitress 😑. Oh and I forgot to mention we let them know it's my brother in laws birthday , everyone is talking and u know catching up, you know normal family stuff. and this man comes and lights two candles. Never tells anyone hey get ready we're going to light candles for his bday. Then returns when the candles are out and says "oh happy birthday " . RUDE A$$ PEOPLE, rude staff. Do not come here!
