Best donuts in Johnson City. Without contest. The Old Fashioned and Apple Fritter are the best! They have cake donuts and yeast donuts. We used to drive all the way to the Daylight on State of Franklin but were thrilled when the one on Roan opened. The staff is so friendly and when I come in with my boys, they sometimes offer them a free holiday themed donut to enjoy while I pick out our dozen. I’ve called even ahead and they’ve put in a type of donut so it will be ready when I arrive. Their donuts also stay fresh longer than DD. Arrived at 6:30am on Thursday, at the Roan location. Looking for raised chocolate and Kolache. They said they were sold out...hmmm, you opened at 6am. No raised donuts at all? Half empty single small case of options. So I drove to the State of Franklin locations. Two cases barely filled with mostly cake options. No glazed, no raised chocolate, no sign of Kolaches. I bought 5 raised cake and a cinnamon roll, to try what they had...meh...not that impressed. Seemed like they were day old. So disappointing since I drove 30 minutes, first thing in the morning to assure my choice...

These donuts are beyond your wildest fresh Krispy Kreme dreams! Stopped by bc it’s down the road from the Airbnb where we were staying, and were blown away. Plenty to choose from, but we had a chocolate and a maple Boston cream — both generously filled with custard-/ a regular chocolate frosted (frosting tastes fresh, not chalky/waxy like too many chains) and glazed (not overly sweet) The donuts have that perfect bite of delicate crispness giving way to mouth-watering cake with tight crumb) Truly a treat!
