Horrific. As a doctor who recently purchased property in the area, this place was recommended by the locals. My staff and I walked in to no greeting and nasty stares. The bar maid told asked if we were part of a wedding party at the hotel next door. We were not. She stated that they didn't want "those people" because they got drunk. Imagine, people being drunk at a bar. I digress.

My staff wanted to leave immediately after the bar maid then said, "It's three of them" referring to us but I requested that we stay at least for a drink. One of my staff turned 50 years old that day and I wanted to at least start the night with a round of shots since we were working all day.

The bartender gruffly asked for our IDs. One of my staff who recently moved from New York had a VALID state ID which had a minor crack on the right top corner. The bartender said and I quote, "I can't accept this, it has a crack". Which, I know for a fact is NOT true as I was a bartender my ENTIRE college and grad school career. My staff ALSO knew this not to be true because she's a veteran and my other staff member is former law enforcement. My staff immediately got upset at the lie from the bartender and we proceeded to leave.

There is NOTHING welcoming, pleasant or professional about this place. It gives racist vibes (all of us are people of color and dressed in business casual) and the place has disgusting, judgemental people (including the patrons), and outdated decor. I will never recommend ANYBODY to go here or to EVER spend a dime. This is the WORST experience I have had in Johnstown and I will tell EVERY fellow traveling...

The menu was big, the prices in my opinion were cheap for what you get! If you leave here hungry that's your fault! The servings are large and the food is delicious, I ordered the beach fries, ( fries smothered in cheese bacon and ranch) I got my ranch on the side, a turkey and gravy sandwich which was full of yummy turkey and some breaded mushrooms.. everything was delicious and the portions large! I couldn't recommend this place enough! BTW, my total bill was about $23.55 and I took most of it with me and I can eat.. don't let my size fool you.. the beach fries could've fed the entire table and that's no exaggeration! edit I took a a friend here to eat before the Foreigner concert, as usual it did NOT dossapoint! This time I went with the chicken Taco, beach fries and wings! I their homemade soft tacos are like Taco bells chalupas...... only better..yummy..I highly recommend if this place wasn't so far away and up over the mountain I would eat here daily! The owner waited on us he was so cool and in all fairness I only weigh 102 pounds and was fair game for the all in fun comments about where was I gonna put it etc.. like I said, I can eat folks! Fyi the place was packed and there was quite a wait that there says enough! I cannot wait to go back to Johnstown for whatever reason just to...

Wow what a great lunch spot in Johnstown! We were only here for one night and were staying at the Holiday Inn 2 minutes away...they directed us here. The place looks like your run of the mill small town bar but wait till you go in and look at the huge menu! Giant tacos are the specialty here, but there is something for everyone...even plenty for vegetarians. We started with a full heaping plate of poutine that was some of the best this side of the border-a must order! I had a grilled chicken taco and they will customize it any way you want. My taco was hanging off a dinner plate...so good! My partner had a plain cheeseburger and rated it excellent with a particular mention for the unique bun. Service from Tucker was fast and friendly...he even gave us suggestions where to buy some T-shirts. Plus we got to meet the man himself...Scott. He’s obviously loving what he does and will make you feel instantly at home in Johnstown! We absolutely recommend this place when you visit the city. If only Scott can make the building bigger to accommodate more people...it gets swamped on hockey nights! Come hungry and hopefully Scott himself will be there to give you a...

Great experience very satisfied by food and staff. Wish I could've given them a 5 star rating but the place was too small and loud. About 4 or 5 tables squeezed in a tight little room with a bar and cooler wasn't very comfortable. But the food was very good, VERY GOOD. Tacos were huge, and I haven't had a hot roast beef sandwich in a long time and that really hit the spot. Could've put a little more gravy on the fries but it was good

I just came into Scott’s By Dam by happenstance in the middle of the day for lunch. I was so pleasantly surprised with the excellent price, ambiance and the friendly staff. Scott did such an excellent job at making me feel welcome and valued. The food quantity was enormous as well, the large Buffalo chicken taco was massive as well as delicious. I highly recommend coming to try the food and meeting the wonderful people here.
