It was good because the room was very spacious, had a curtain for privacy between living area and bed area. Dishwasher and everything, even hidden beef jerky in the cabinet! Beds are pretty comfy but I found a blood stain so 3 points for effort I guess. The counter table could even be used as a bed for guests. The bathroom doors are brutal, almost got stuck in one, almost had to press the emergency button, very scared. The pool was nice, you can open your eyes with no tears but my friend had eye irritation about an hour after. The pool tasted salty, a lot of little kids were roaming around so it tasted quite urinated. I hit my chin at the bottom of the rough floors, now I have a mark so no hot girl summer, biatch. My brother asked for an hdmi cord and the guy at the front desk was very rude about it, didn’t even give us a goodnight just a “GIVE IT BACK.” This random little girl with snuck into our room and was telling us off, saying “Ice doesn’t melt in the microwave” and what not because the sink water tastes chemical. She acted like the queen of coffee and had at least 5 cups which I don’t know how because it was ATROCIOUS by the way, she calls herself “The Coffee Addict.” We got ding dong ditched around 9:00pm and when we kept going out to check no one was there, it was very frightening and in that moment I was on my knees praying to my lord savior Jesus Christ, asking for forgiveness for slapping that one guy at the playground. I was in the shower during this time and the shower head was pretty good, great water pressure and there were a lot of towels. The curtain was very see through and since we were on the bottom floor you could see everyone walking by and it added more onto the horrifying madness. The breakfast was okay, the waffle maker was broken, not filled so we had to wait 20 minutes to actually eat our food. I felt like I was in a school lunch line, waiting for my food with an empty stomach and a narrow mind. This boy taught me how to work the waffle gadget so very thoughtful of him. The waffles were dry but filling I guess, not many options for breakfast. We payed to leave till 12:00pm and while we were napping this woman kept knocking on our door asking when we were going to leave so very annoying, I was in the middle of my nap daydreaming about leonardo DiCaprio. I am starting to begin this hotel is haunted first the random knocking, then I had a mid day nightmare about the doors opening and closing and the curtains as well. Then in the dream a genie ghost figure was arising from the bed and my friend and I were horrified. But in the end of the dream we were greeted with cupcakes so that was good I guess. Overall pretty good hotel if you want a break from...
Read moreWe were blown away with how nice this experience was for the price. The staff truly made it feel like a 5 star hotel.
My wife and I were driving through the Joliet area and were needing a place to stay with our baby. My wife called the hotel when we were about 2 hours out and the young lady who answered the phone (I wish we remembered her name) was very pleasant and helpful. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile (from I believe the same person who answered the phone), and a prompt check in. When we inquired about the pack and play she informed us that it was already in the room waiting for us! They also let our baby pick out a little rubber ducky (not super important just a cute add on). The room was super clean and a great size for our small family.
The next morning before continuing on our journey, we had coffee and breakfast in the lobby. The man who was working the desk/lobby was equally as friendly and helpful. I work in customer service so I can't help but just eavesdrop on people's conversations. He was so good with everyone he interacted with. The food didn't blow us away but there were decent options and everything was good.
This whole experience was such a breath of fresh air and I can't understate how positive of an impact it had on us. We had never stayed at a Home2 Suites but we certainly will be moving forward. We unfortunately won't find ourselves traveling through Joliet often, but we do travel throughout the country quite a bit. The Joliet Home2 Suites team has won us over and we will be looking to book them in any city we're staying in from...
Read moreWe stayed here for a spring break getaway combined with a dance competition. We had a room next door to friends we were traveling with, so I appreciated that they worked to have us near each other. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good (better than many other hotels). The room itself was nice - couch that could be pulled out to a bed - we didn't need the extra bed, but the couch was actually pretty comfy. Lots of shelving/storage since it's considered for extended stay. Full size fridge. Staff was generally very friendly and helpful. ||The cons - Hilton honors points only accrues at half the rate - I didn't realize this ahead of time and it isn't a problem with the hotel but rather the brand. Disappointing because I really thought this was about to become my preferred hotel within the brand for family travel. We also had some people at the hotel who were smoking weed at the hotel (legal in Illinois) but it stunk and even would travel through vents to other rooms. They did put signs on doors reminding of the non-smoking policy, but it felt like we were going to get charged for smoking when we weren't rather than addressing the issue at the source (and you could narrow down the source by walking through halls!) I assume this isn't a regular issue, so would consider staying here again because the hotel itself was very nice. Especially helpful if you are traveling with family because the...
