Don Jose Mexican Restaurant on Wilkins Avenue has been a family favorite of ours for years, and for good reason. It’s one of those places that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The staff are always incredibly friendly, welcoming guests with genuine smiles and great service that never feels rushed, even during busy times.

The atmosphere is casual and comfortable—perfect for a weeknight dinner or a weekend family outing. What keeps us coming back, aside from the warm hospitality, is the consistently delicious food. The chips and salsa are always fresh, and their salsa has just the right balance of flavor and heat to keep you reaching for more.

One of my go-to dishes is the DJ Special. It’s a great combination plate with a bit of everything, and it always hits the spot. I like to customize it by adding grilled pineapple, which adds a perfect touch of sweetness that balances out the savory flavors beautifully.

This is some of best food I've had in Jonesboro. The atmosphere isn't too loud and it's honestly very homey. The staff was extremely friendly going so far as to help a mother when her baby dropped her bottle at a table next to us. The food came out rather quickly which might sound like a red flag to some people. However, this is the best Mexican food I've ever eaten apart from the actual Mexican food I ate in Mexico itself. I got the tacos de Carne asada and my girlfriend got the beef chimichanga. Beef in my tacos with seasoned perfectly complimenting the onions and cilantro along with the lime juice. My girlfriend's chimichanga, however had a slightly different seasoning going more for a chili style which was a welcome addition. Overall, I will be getting her again to try more of their...

Me and my befriend went here for our first date and had an amazing experience! Staff was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere of the restaurant is incredibly beautiful and inviting. Portion sizes are crazy as we ended up taking leftovers home that we ended up eating as a late night that was delicious even then. This is now our special place that we would more than enjoy going back to on more than one occasion. Definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price.
