Moe's Southwest Grill — Restaurant in Joplin

It was my first time trying Moe’s(came in during slow time right before rush even happened) and decided on a steak bowl. Loved all the options. There were many iffy choices but hey it’s variety. I got 6 lousy pieces of steak for the whole bowl and then got up to check out. The lady was nice and offered the 6$ bowl if I get the app, I started to get it and asked her how exactly to get that , she proceeded to tell me “actually do that next time” and said that once more so I payed and went to sit. All the salsas were bland if not weird tasting and not spicy at all. And when I went to my bowl I decided to buy more steak for it since there was not much. As I was waiting I noticed the same lady who helped me, help this white lady get the app to get the 6 dollar bowl, in the middle of a big ol line(lunch rush). It was upsetting since the only difference was that she was white (I’m not assuming anything but it felt like that was really the only thing different). I got my steak and went to sit down and ate my food just to be nauseas and have to run to the bathroom many times after.

Disappoints me very dearly since all the people I asked about Moe’s told me it was good. The money and time I spent was not worth...

The food is fresh and great, but the Joplin manager, Jack (I don't know his last name), is probably the friendliest and most helpful restaurant manager I have ever met. Kudos to Jack :) My wife and I go often on Monday, when you can get a burrito or bowl that normally costs $12-$15 (depending on your meat choice) for only $7.99. You do need to sign up for their rewards program to get that price, but they give you a free cup of queso for signing up, and if you're even a semi-regular customer, you'll get free food from your rewards. *Pro tip; if you get a bowl instead of a burrito, you can get a tortilla on the side for free. You get way more food in a bowl (the bowls normally cost $1 more, but not on Mondays). And if you actually want to put the fillings into the tortilla, they will give you an extra bowl (just ask). I very much dislike that I’m writing this review on a place that I very much enjoy. I myself came in on New Year’s Day to grab a bite to eat with my niece & nephew. I ordered a bowl & came to check out & politely asked if I could pay with a $50. I was told they had received fake bills & that SMB/ Southwest Missouri Bank told them that they couldn’t take them. I myself work with the public, along with handling large bills. I really believe that the staff should be educated & trained better. I work with the public everyday, I agree the customer isn’t always right. But, I was treated as if I was a criminal. I really believe that you should train your employees better.
