Billy Sims BBQ — Restaurant in Junction City

Highly disappointed...

Yesterday I visited this establishment it’s pretty new for Junction city so I thought I’d give it a shot. Walking in was not a pleasant experience as a lady at the front desk was clearly frustrated no greeting no how you doing just what do you want for here or to go. Waited about 15 minutes to get the Heisman sandwich. Which came out cold and dry. As I lift up the bun I notice a piece of saran wrap in my sandwich. I got up and waited about 10 minutes for the lady to acknowledge my existence at the front counter as I told her it’s not a big of a deal it happens I just want to inform you that I found this in my sandwich and all she had to say was OK sorry sir I’ll be right with you. About five minutes later she came back over and said they were all remake my sandwich if I would like. I said no that’s OK I’ve already been here for 30 minutes I have to go back to work. I read over some of the other reviews as well as this restaurant's responses so I am posting this with that knowledge in mind. Overall this BBQ place is incredibly disappointing and doesn't seem to care. Perhaps it's better in person but I highly DON'T recommend ordering on door dash. The portion sizes (which may have been weighed out as told by the restaurant in other reviews) but it seemed really small and not a lot of food for the very high price we paid. Each plate was over $20 and barely had any meat. Plus I received the completely wrong sides and the outside of the side containers had some sort of cleaner or soap on it which I accidentally consumed and almost threw up (I thought it was just mayo from the coleslaw that I didn't order, boy was I wrong). When we called the restaurant about the sides and told them about the cleaner on the container they basically told us that we ordered through door dash and it was their problem and hung up. The food smelled fabulous and looked good but the taste... ugghh. We were SO disappointed. He Got the chicken sandwich with fries and we swear it was chicken, straight out of a can with zero spices or seasonings. Fries were ok. I got polish sausage , baked beans and green beans. I was expecting the smoked sausage to taste "smoked" , from a BBQ, but no. It was a basic polish sausage that was probably baked and put on the plate. No different flavor than if I had cooked it at home. The baked beans were very good and the green beans were okay. I would have enjoyed country beans with onions and some kind of pork , a bit more. The staff was great and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant was clean and well put together. I won't say I will never try it again , because I always give the benefit of the doubt on the first try but it's not a place I will be rushing to recommend 😏 i always like to try something new and local on a trip.
