We just PCS’d here in the summer of last year and I was worried I wasn’t going to find a place that sells authentic Mexican food! But one day while getting my oil changed I saw this place next door and decided to give it a try! Boy oh boy am I glad I did!
First, let me talk about these MASSIVE breakfast burritos 🌯! I ordered one with bacon, egg, potato, and cheese and I added refried beans! So you get more bang for your buck! Best breakfast burrito I’ve had since leaving my home state of Texas many many years ago! The food was hot and fresh! The burrito was so big I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting! I know they make their own Pico de gallo so that’s always fresh! The salsa, I’m not sure about but it sure is good! And the fact that I can get a breakfast burrito any time of day or night is a plus for me!
I’ve gone there for lunch and dinner too at different times of day because they’re open 24/7! That’s awesome! Another great thing on the menu is the tamales 🫔! A little too spicy for me but I buy them because they’re soooo good! I love the combination fajitas. You have to cook shrimp perfect for me. I hate mushy overcooked shrimp and I’ve never had the experience here and I eat here quite often. The portions are great for your money and it’s not expensive!
The customer service is great! I’ve never had a bad customer service experience here! Every time I come, whomever is working the front that day is always smiling and pleasant. Bad customer can be a deal breaker for me so to have great food and awesome customer service makes this place a regular spot I frequent.
The quotes on the wall are hilarious. They could use a little updating or some attention to the big gaping hole over the soda machines but I rarely look up so, hopefully they’ll get to it eventually! That’s the only reason they don’t get 5...
Read moreNot very many places in Junction City/Fort Riley area that are open 24/7 and where you can get a cooked meal at 2am. It used to be called Panchos when I first went there. The food was always pretty good. I prefer the drive thru if late night. But they have dine in options as well. If up late and hungry then it is one of the few options. But do expect the JC Police to target you at that sort of hour around there as they are hunting for narcotics and DUIs, so if you are actually partying, then please be safe and get an uber and do not make yourself a target. If you do not do any of that foolishness, then still expect the local police or sheriff office to make up a reason to pull you and have your paperwork and license ready to roll so you can get moving again once they determine you are not their target. I have been pulled over almost every time I went there late at night as they assumed I was up to no good and just do not have much to patrol and bored I guess.
Never had any actual convictions, but I say this because the atmosphere must attract that sort of stuff I assume and so it is worth noting to be watchful for. So be careful and have all your paperwork and vehicle in proper working order and be ready for dealing with local law enforcement that are scoping the business and surrounding area should you choose to take advantage of one of the only late night food options! Good food, and the horchata was...
Read moreThis place is amazing! We were traveling through on our way home and decided on a whim to stop and eat. The decor was unique, and the random little quotes on the walls were entertaining to say the least. The ladies behind the counter were extremely friendly and cordial, legitimately felt welcomed instead of just being served. My daughter and wife got the nachos and mixed fajitas, while I got the chile relleno platter; which is how I normally judge a Mexican restaurant. Portions were huge; I usually end up cleaning their plates off but struggled to finish my own. The flour tortillas that came with our meals were hot, fresh and delicious! Definitely homemade we believe. I also tried as many of their sauces as I could, and took a few home for the leftovers. Usually hard for me to find actual "hot" sauces as Ghost Pepper sauce and the like are staples in our fridge, but a couple of them here had me sweating. We live a little over 2 hours away and decided even before we finished eating that it would be worth the drive back up just to...
