I don’t normally write reviews, but I've been inspired the kind of feeling only achievable by mixing overpriced mediocrity with pretentious branding.
Let’s begin with the chocolate, which, ironically, is the worst part of this shop. What I received was a waxy, flavorless slab masquerading as artisanal. It tasted like it was crafted by someone who’s only read about chocolate in theory, but never actually tasted it. I’ve had better from gas station vending machines at 3 a.m. in rural Ionia.
Now let’s talk presentation, which clearly thinks it's working at a Parisian art gallery. The truffles were served in a flimsy box that looked like a failed high school art project, garish colors, and cheap packaging trying so hard to be “boutique” it ends up feeling like satire. A child’s Valentine’s Day craft had more polish.
To make matters worse, the prices are laughably delusional. $18 for a tiny box of truffles that are at best worth half that price. For such a price, I expected hand-tempered couverture and notes of Madagascar vanilla. Instead, I got a semi-chalky texture and the lingering aftertaste of buyer’s remorse.
If this is Cherri’s idea of “Chocol’art,” I suggest they focus less on the “art” and more on making the chocolate be actually worth the sell price.
Final verdict: If you're craving chocolate, there are many other places you can go that are worth more your cash. If you're craving disappointment wrapped in foil, then by all means, visit Cherri's.
The atmosphere is cool...

Was visiting and staying overnight in Kzoo and we decided to stop here to get some deliciousness to take back for our room as dessert after we had dinner.
The place looks great and that staff working was super kind but for what we spent and how it tasted it was not a good experience.
$30 dollars for 9 pieces of mediocre chocolate that tasted like the cheap chocolate you'd buy at a super market. Some of the insides were runny and watery and some chocolate such as the Caramel latte was just disgusting. The sea salt caramel was also really bad as it had more salt than anything else in it. The best thing they had was the red rose raspberry chocolate and even then, that's baseline expectation of what chocolate should taste like. The Lavender could have been great had it not been runny inside and more mousse like.
$10 for raspberry lemon marshmallows that are so sour and powdery like chalk, I threw mine out as soon as I had the first bite.
The 2 brownies my boyfriend picked out he said were okay. I can't recall the price on them.
I don't understand how this place has good reviews for overpriced below...
Read moreWe ordered the Caramel Apple Cider Monster Shake. Was it attractive? Yes. Not as pretty as the photo, but visually appealing. However, the plastic cup it was served in was only three-quarters full. The rest of the cup was filled with a rock-hard donut - totally inedible. The actual milkshake portion was tasty, but the price per ounce (minus the week-old donut) was probably close to a dollar.
I don't want to dismiss the effort in making this shake. It is work because it involves decorating the cup with icing(?) used to adhere graham cracker crumbs to the side, but is anyone really going to the work of scraping that stuff off to eat it? I would rather they actually make enough shake to fill the cup and get a reasonably-fresh donut.
There may be items at this restaurant that are truly awesome, but this is one that is best avoided. ...
