I’ve been a long time visitor to Kalispell and always made it a point to have dinner or take away dinner from Casa Mexico pre-covid. We’ve always enjoyed the food, service and the staff were always gracious. Pre-covid, tips were always appreciated but never expected. Post-covid, something changed. Maybe the management changed or the restaurant changed hands, but the attitude of the front desk staff and even their wait staff changed. From graciousness to Mexican gruffness. Tips, now are not just expected, they’re almost demanded, these days at Casa Mexico. The portions, used to be American-sized are now smaller, Canadian-sized smallness. The food has retained much of its flavour and taste. Likely the chefs stuck around after what I think was an ownership change. Thank God for that. The new crop of staff are much more “fake it till you make it”. The old school charm is gone, replaced by a Mexican standoffish “show me the the dinero”. Thankfully, the food still tastes authentic. I hope at least that lasts, because this is still one of the best places in Kalispell to get a taste of Mexico.

I definitely would NOT recommend this place to eat. I cannot attest to the cantina. As soon as we were seated everything went downhill. It was disgustingly dirty, then it took forever for the waitress to take our order, after our order was taken another waitress came and asked us if we were ready to order?? When the food arrived the original waitress was horrible not asking if we needed anything else and just throwing our plates in front of us as if we were dogs. The food had obviously been sitting for a while or reheated on the plate. My husband sat there the whole time after we got food with nothing to drink and no offers of a refill. After we were done eating we sat there for an extensive amount of time waiting for our bill. We finally caught the attention of a busser and asked for our bill. I could understand some of the "bad" waitress experience if they were busy but they definitely were not and had plenty of open tables. All in all it was a horrible experience and again I would definitely NOT recommend eating there.

There aren't many Mexican places in the valley that aren't fast food or just plain not good. We've had better but not in this area. I'm only including that because it's not what you get in Mexico or southern states (which is what people seem to use as a reference to judge against Mexican food in Montana). The best part of our meal that we all agreed on was the drinks and chips with salsa. The Huckleberry Margaritas were AWESOME! The glasses they use are huge and rather heavy. We were glad to have straws. 20 oz margaritas with whole huckleberries?!?! Yes please!!!! The salsa and chips were fresh and completely yum. I liked that the salsa had some spice to it and wasn't bland. The meal portions were generous. Our waiter was polite and and attentive. He was the best staff interaction we had. Overall it was a good value for the money. We enjoyed it and will be back.

This is the worst managed restaurant in Kalispell. If I could give 0 stars I would. I work in retail and customer service. I take care of many customers/clients who are upset about service, and rightly so, we're all humans and we all make mistakes. It's how you respond to your mistakes that makes or breaks you..... What happened to us is we came to eat dinner around 7 P.M. they told us "30 minutes" We sat and waited for an hour, a group of 5 adults and 4 kids. Kids ages were 5, 2, 2, and 1. They only had one spot with high chairs "apparently" so we kept waiting and waiting. We checked in a few times just to ensure we hadn't been forgotten due to other groups of 6 and 7 that were being seated before us and arriving after us (well after us). After finally waiting forever we confronted them and saying we didn't even need high chairs and we were willing to sit anywhere with the kids on our laps. They still wouldn't give us a table and made it seem as if we were an irritant that they wanted to just get rid of. At that point we called for the manager and all he could say was "it's because you requested high chairs and we only have one spot. I'm sorry, we're doing the best we can." He also proceeded to ask if we even still wanted to be seated, clearly indicating that he was hoping we said "no" and left. Well "their" best is not good enough. Not family friendly, and not accommodating. We said multiple times we didn't need high chairs. So we did end up saying "NO" to the manager's question and we left hungry and unhappy. Word to the wise. DO NOT go to this restaurant. Bad service, bad management. The least they could have done was given us a coupon upon leaving. But of course not. Wouldn't be going back there with a discount anyway, or for free for...

After moving here from GA several months ago, we decided to give this place a try. Given that there are only a couple of Mexican restaurants in all of the Valley, we had high hopes. Unfortunately, our experience was pretty terrible. Our waiter and service weren’t bad but the food couldn’t have been more bland and tasteless. I have been to plenty of cheap Mexican restaurants back home in GA where they are in abundance and I would easily give any one of them a better review than Casa Mexico. Let’s start with the cheese dip. It is not your standard blanco queso but a bowl of what appears and taste like a cheaper version of store bought Tostitos yellow cheese dip with mushy veggies mixed in. To make matters worse, it came out rather cold. For dinner, I had a steak quesadilla that was hands down the worst quesadilla I have ever had in my life - Period. The steak resembled something I would find in a can of dog food. The texture of the steak had the same texture as spam and didn’t resemble any form of real steak in any way. The cheese was was not Mexican cheese but a cheap white American cheese. The veggies in the quesadilla tasted like they were previously frozen due to them having a mushy texture and ZERO taste. Add in the fact that this is the first Mexican restaurant on earth to charge for additional chips. I hate to give this place one star but it really is not that hard to screw up Mexican food. The food really is that bad. They are clearly trying to save $$ by using the lowest quality ingredients they can find. It’s a shame because the atmosphere wasn’t bad. I am glad we gave it a try but unfortunately we will not...

My coworkers and I went here to celebrate the last day of school, just like we had for the last 4 years, but this year the manager was extremely rude to us. We always sit on the patio, it was about 3 o'clock, rainy and much cooler than normal so not a lot of people wanted to be on the patio besides my group of teachers and another very large group of teachers from a different school. We all ordered drinks and were having fun until about 2 hours later when my friend tried to go to the cantina to order her first drink and they said we couldn't order anymore and had to have our waiter take our order. The manager came out and we let him know that we hadn't even seen our server for about an hour and did not have the chance to order drinks from him. He them began to attack our group and said that we are in a food and drink area and only ordering drinks and no food so we don't get service. We let him know that we would have loved to order food but we were only given drink menus and the waiter never even asked us about whether we'd like to eat. I use to love this place and they do have delicious margaritas but I will not be returning. My coworkers and I will find other businesses in the valley, such as, bias, sunrift, our Brannigans, who are friendly and always appreciate the patronage of local teachers in our valley. Super...
