I understand restaurants are very short handed at this time. I didn’t mind waiting 20 min for our food. I did mind the waitress who sometimes had a strange attitude. She brought us to a table, placed the menus and walked off. We didn’t want to sit there. We moved. 10 min for water. I said we were ready to order when she brought it. There are 3 tables ahead of you was the response. It was more than 10 min for her to take the order. It was painfully slow already we could see. She told us after we asked that it would be at least 20 min for the food. Ok. We now know. When it finally did come she showed it to the people at the next table. I asked for chopsticks. We had to wait for those, too because she had to fish glasses out of the rack, fill 4 with water and deliver them to another table first as our food got cold. My curry wasn’t even warm when she brought it. I had to go to her in the set up area to let her know I didn’t want white rice, but sticky rice. She went in the kitchen. She went to the table next to us and was talking. She went up front and took money from someone. I went up and told her about the rice. She said he’s getting it ready for you. Sorry, It is the server’s job to scoop out a bowl of rice and serve it. 30 seconds and served. Was I to send my curry back and wait who knows how long for that to heat up while my finally received sticky rice got cold? No. If she’d have just brought the rice right away I’d have kept the lukewarm curry, been unhappy but not angry. You’re supposed to take care of the people you serve. You’re not supposed to let them eat cold food. Look, I was a server for years and years. I know the job. I know it can be a pain. I had become angry at that point with at least 45 minutes invested. It was too much and there was one resolve. Sadly, disappointedly, we walked. I told her. It was only then that she was going for the rice. Too late. Sorry, but you just lost well needed tourist dollars. Look, I don’t want to hurt this restaurant so I’ll say this. This is summer 2021. Restaurants are particularly challenged during the pandemic. Give them a chance if your reading this when things get back to normal. Hopefully you’ll have a...
Read moreI have lived in the Valley for 4 years and have always wanted to come here. On August 16, prior to a concert at the fair, I made a reservation for 5:30 for 2 so that my gf and I can have a great dinner and not be rushed before the concert. We arrived a little late...at 545. No problem and were seated right away. The place didnt seem too busy at that time but I also couldnt see the back room at that time (which also was not full come to find out). The guy working let us know it would be about half an hour for the food. No problem. Still gave us plenty of time to hang out, talk, and enjoy a nice dinner before the show....this is where it goes south. People kept coming in and the guy still kept telling people half an hour. It was clearly just him and one other person working. In my opinion, as a long time restaurant worker, he should've started turning people away....I will tell you why. A FULL HOUR AND 15 MINUTES LATER...we still had no food and weren't even communicated with about anything. I then very kindly asked how long it would be because he said 30 minutes and now we are over an hour. He said he would check...2 minutes later our food magically appeared...how convenient...by the way IT WAS COLD. It had clearly been sitting there for who knows how long. By this time we were late to the show and had cold food and the table next to us with a toddler who ordered before us had STILL not gotten their food. I don't know why I paid for the meal I didn't eat...I shouldn't have even been handed a bill in all honesty. I even tipped 2 dollars because my Thai tea was actually good. Service sucked. Food sucked. Atmosphere kinda sucks. I don't like leaving bad reviews...this one is necessary. As a person who lives long term in the Valley and was hoping for a good place to add to the list....was very very disappointed. Will not be coming back and do not recommend. I understand being busy...but this is just poor customer service and the cold food was the icing...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I were looking for something to eat when we stumbled upon this place. We walked in and were immediately overjoyed. Not only was it quant, peaceful and not crazy fancy (what we were looking for), it was a block away from a microbrewery we were wanting to try. The menu is immense and it took us a while to choose. We started with a wonderful malbec (me), thai beer (my man) and some springrolls (two of the smallest, most adorable rolls i have ever seen). We each orderd something different with the intention of sharing so we could try something new. The second we tried our food, we were in love. It was THE BEST THAI FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD (and i eat it like a child eats candy), and both plates had extremely long (1ft easily) hairs, one black (in my boyfriends meal) and one blonde (in my own). The waiter was amazing and took care of the issue right away but the manager was different she clearly refused to believe the hairs came from her kitchen and tried telling me that her cooks don't have the kind of hair that was REMOVED FROM OUR PLATTERS (after we listened to her scream at her cooks in the kitchen). I would have given them 4 stars had it not been for her behavior. Her staff was great, her food quality was amazing and her restaurant clean. We were both broken hearted because of the obviouseness of the hair (the blonde strand actually had rice clinging to it) and the fact that we wouldnt get to finish a meal that started off so amazingly. Kudos to the waiter for keeping a straight face and helping us with the bill. Definitely not going back for...
