Horrible service ! I brought my girlfriend here for lunch since she was craving "mexican food" it was not our first time here but certainly our last ! Our waitress was very rude and lazy . At first our drinks came out pretty quick, when we ordered our food my girlfriend asked her to please bring her tortillas with her meal , and her response was "yes the dish comes with tortillas" but when our food came out there was no tortillas , so my girlfriend once again asked her for tortillas. But after waiting for 20 minutes for tortillas she never came back , my girlfriend asked the busser to please get our server or tortillas . But after that no one else showed up . When finally my girlfriend and I decided to go to the front and speak with someone, the hostess tried to ignore what was going on and said "oh you want your check" my girlfriend said that she was only paying for what she had ate and drank but not for the cold food that we didn't even eat . Well my girlfriend repeated this to the hostess about three times and she finally got our server . When our server came up to us she gave us an attitude about how she was busy , we told her that we understood because we are servers as well and we know how things get , her response was " it must not get busy where you guys work" which by the way it wasn't busy at all during the time we were there . My girlfriend told her she was only paying for what she had ate and drank for the third time and she said not to worry about it that she would speak with her manager (which was no where to be found) and as my girlfriend and I walked out the door she said "you should have gone to McDonald's instead"
Just saying that it was the WORST experience ! And her being rude and disrespectful wasn't helping...
Read moreI have been eating at El Amigo for probably 20 years or more and have seen the quality of food and service go down as the costs go up. Prior to Covid it was a great meal, great service and affordable. I know Covid was hard on all businesses, but still ordered carry-out often and started finding the prices increasing and they started adding charges for an extra salsa or chips that were all you wanted in the restaurant. Now that Covid is over and an almost new staff is in place the service for dine in is terrible. Stopped ordering carry-out since they charge for the extras. Stopped there with a friend to have a late lunch around 1 or 1:30 and it was not that busy, but the service was terrible. The order came out incorrect for mine with a $.79 charge for extra pico i ask for on my CA Burrito and a glob of guac on the plate that I did not order and do not like. Had to ask for additional salsa when I could get the waitresses attention since they pour it into a super small bowl that run out after a handful of chips. Finally we ended up with no chips and no salsa and the wait staff just walked by and ignored us. When she did finally return we just ask for a to go box and the check since most of the food had gotten cold waiting on salsa. When the check came and I found $30 for a 2 person lunch to be extremely expensive for what has become average food and poor service. Luckily there are additional Mexican restaurants around that have much better service, reasonable prices and the food is very tasty. This was my last meal at El Amigo or at least for a...
Read moreWe are regulars at this restaurant. Food is always excellent. This particular day it seemed we started with one waitress and ended up with a waiter. We had to flag down waiter / waitress staff to get tea refills, another beer, etc. I understand everyone is short staffed. We arrived at 1:58pm and finally got our bills at 3:10pm .. with a charge showing after 3:00pm of $1.59 on two entries. Well I thought it was because it took us longer to get the food.. even after sitting there for 30 to 45 minutes to get our order in ..
When I questioned it I was told it was a service charge for anything off lunch menu on a Sunday. I was totally unaware of such charge. The cashier was very unconcerned. She refused to give me her name … because she doesn’t have too!!! Most businesses require a name badge so you can get their attention and know who you are speaking to if there is any type of issue!! I am shocked to say the least about this policy. I too work for public and very honestly I would never treat anyone with total disregard to a complaint or concern. I would offer my name and hand you a business card. I care!! I want to make sure my service as well as my attitude is as good as the food!!! I personally drive from Salisbury area to eat at this restaurant .. because generally the service is good and food hot and very good!! Today was an exception!! Then the lack of concern at cashier made for a bad...
