WORST experience I've ever had with a RESTAURANT/manager! I was told at the take out window by the manager that the restaurant would no longer serve our family and that he had my TAG NUMBER. All because I refused to pay over $60 for food. I didn't curse anyone, I wasn't rude, all I asked for was an explanation, and was THREATENED!!! How's that for management!
Here's how it started... I called and placed a to-go order and had asked for 2 BLTs, both with a side of mac and cheese. Once I had finished giving the order I was told my order would be $39 and some change. Right after I disconnected the call, I had called back to request a change to the order. I had asked for them to take the 2 sides of mac and cheese off of the order and in its place I wanted 2 pancakes with a side of strawberries. Before hanging up I wasn't told the total would be any different than before. It was time to pick up my order so I drove over to Sunshine and pulled up to the to-go window. The lady took my name, pulled my order and said the total was $60 dollars and change. I asked why it was a $20 difference from what I was told on the phone. The girl tried to explain you can't substitute 2 sides of mac and cheese for 2 pancakes, there's an upcharge. I understand there's an upcharge but I don't understand why a $20 upcharge. The girl gets the manager, he comes over and says the same thing the girl said... there's an upcharge, you can't substitute the 2 items. I UNDERSTAND that BUT someone PLEASE explain to me how it's a $20 upcharge?!? I told the manager I didn't want the food and I wasn't paying for it. He told me I had to pay for the food, it was already made and a large order. I refused. That's when he said, "We will no longer serve your family and I have your tag number!"
Not to mention EVERY time my family has ordered food from this restaurant the price is NEVER the same...I guess your total depends on the person running the to-go window!
I've worked in customer service for over 15 years and 8 of those years were at Outback Steakhouse. This has got to be hands down the WORST restaurant experience...
Read moreThose who know me know that I'm a stickler for good customer service. Lately, I have been so disappointed in the lack thereof; and, unfortunately, it seems to be the norm. However, today, the Sunshine Family Restaurant in Kannapolis, NC, showed themselves differently. Highly recommended on Facebook, I thought I'd give them a try, and they did not disappoint. I also spoke to several patrons before entering and they too gave rave reviews.
The atmosphere is chill and cool, the ambiance is very welcoming and charming, prices are very reasonable, and the staff is also very friendly and efficient. I also noticed great teamwork amongst the staff.
Their breakfast menu is quite extensive, and is served throughout the day, but I chose from the dinner menu. They did not have as many sides as I would have liked but the list is comparable to other restaurants I've attended. Since I'm not a big meat eater, more vegetables would have been an added plus.
As recommended, I chose the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and roll (all the things I shouldn't be eating, but wanted... and it was sooo good)! The chicken was succulent (crispy, moist and juicy, and seasoned to the bone), the collard greens, and macaroni and cheese were also good (not like my Momma's, but I was not disappointed). So, do yourself a favor and visit this cozy little restaurant. It’s the cutest spot.
In a world where good customer service is lacking, the service at Sunshine left the best impression on me. The staff truly cares about your experience, and most importantly, the food is absolutely good!
I really liked this place and will definitely go back to visit... besides, it carries my nickname, "Sunshine!" I highly...
Read moreTypically, I am very understanding of customer service factors. Especially, during the holidays. However, my husband and I went to this establishment on today for breakfast. They were busy and we waited to be seated (which is fine). We were seated about 15-20 minutes after we arrived. Our waitress (Jenny) came to our table about 5-7 minutes after we were seated. She took our drink and food order. This would be the last time we saw her. After 35-45 minutes, we had not received our food. Other customers that came in after us had received their food and some had eaten and left. I inquired at the register concerning our food because the waitress was MIA (missing in action). After I asked about our food, the food was brought to our table...... COLD!!! I immediately asked for the manager. I Informed them that the server had not been to our table but one time and why was our food cold. Really no logical explanation. I informed them that I was very unhappy with the service and would let others know of my experience. We left without eating. The waitress returned to the table and just seemed as if she didn't care. Very poor customer service. She does not need to be in the...
