Party House & Bakery — Restaurant in Kannapolis

I don’t understand why, but he LOVES party house cake! This morning I called them to order a cake! (I know it wouldn’t/couldn’t be custom made since it was just a couple of hours notice! I was ok with that)!

The girl said that their premade cakes had pink or purple on them. I asked if they had anything a little bit more masculine! She stated that they had a blue flower one! I agreed to that and said I would pick it up after 1:00pm.

At 3:15, I entered to business and this nice young man asked if he could help me! I told him I was there to pick up a cake for Debbie! He brought it to me, opened it up to let me look at it! 😳. Now, this is a BIRTHDAY cake! I told him that wasn’t what the girl,Maddie, described to me! The “man” that was decorating cakes interrupted the conversation and said that I had ordered a plain cake with “Happy Birthday Darrell”. 😳. When I told him that this was ugly and looked like a baby boy shower cake, he said “that’s what you wanted”!!!!!!! I informed him that this happens EVERY time I order a cake from them….usually, it’s the wrong name! He said “he didn’t need customers like me” and that “he didn’t need my business”. He had enough of them!

So…..what are your thoughts about this cake? FYI…..the piping...

I typically don’t do reviews, but I felt compelled to do this one. My boyfriend went in to order a birthday cake for his son, the total was $19.80, my boyfriend jokingly said that was the year I was born, the guy behind the counter said no way you were born in 1980, my boyfriend said pretty close I was born in 1977, the guy proceeds to say your the oldest looking 40 year old I have ever seen, you must have lived a hard life, then the woman there proceeds to chime in with smart/rude comments. So he goes in today to pick up the cake and as soon as he walks in the guy says to the woman, look there’s the guy who must of been drinking beers instead of playing on the playground (something like that). We haven’t tasted the cake yet, but I assure you, we will never order anything from here again, to treat a paying customer this way is rude and hurtful. I have been going here for ages and today I pick up a cake with a complaint because I used suggestions from the lady that took my order like I always have and the cake looked horrible. So I complained and the manager called me a liar basically and wouldn't do anything about it. He says"we dont give suggestions" well you have give me suggestions for years..... even the lady with white hair agreed with the color I complained about. Then when the manager asked her if she said that she said she didn't say that. Bottom line I took professional cake decorating opinion it turned out terrible they could had helped! The manager had a terrible attitude so I will never go back.... not because of the cake....that was fixable but because of the poor customer service!
