Andy's Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Kansas City

My wife and my newborn come here quite often during his witching hour late nite drive to calm him and get us a treat while we drive around until he calms down and falls asleep. We went last night and waited in a huge line to get our free treat due to the rewards since we get one almost every other week. We get to the front and was told it was for smaller size not the bigger one, even-though we done this numerous times before and had no problem. I said fine I will pay the difference and forgot my wallet due to little one crying and we had to rush and get him safely secured in the car seat for a drive. I had apple pay on my phone which they do not accept and was told I can pay thru the app and the cashier did not know how to do that and got the store manager whom also couldnt tell me how to do that as well. My son of course starts crying due the non movement for over 15 mins and I have been driving for over an hour to calm him down. The difference was only 3.08$ and they could have let it go or just make small one since they already made the large one, probably just threw it away. At this point the ice cream was not worth my son crying and wailing we just drove off due to lack of empathy and poor customer service. Never asking something for free but some type of understanding would been helpful since I was going above and beyond to pay but this place wouldn't due the same for my family and I. Andy’s Custard is amazing. I am a huge fan of frozen custard and much prefer custard over ice cream. Frozen custard has much less air in it and that process results in an amazingly creamy frozen favorite of mine.

Andy’s Frozen Custard is a great place to go, especially if you have kiddos (mine live all of the neon lights), and the drive thru is a convenient alternative. Their frozen custard and menu is awesome. They have accessible/disabled parking and it’s easy to access from 152. I give Andy’s four out of five stars because—

1. There was maybe three or four teaspoons worth of difference between the small cups of custard I ordered and the large cup. If I order a large, which costs more, I would expect there to be a fair amount more in a large when compared to a small. Everything tasted amazing and we will definitely visit again. Andy’s does also have rewards cards and an app.

Come on Andy's, you are better than this. I have stopped here many times and love the custard and usually great help. Not this time. At the window the young lady assisting me handed me a cherry bash concrete that was way too full. When I explained I needed a lid as I had a 20 minute drive, she handed me a flat lid. There was no way that lid was fitting on the cup which was overfilled. I asked if she had a domed lid or another option so it didn't spill. "That's the only lid we have." was the answer given. And no other help was offered, so I tried to make it home with the open custard and way before I could get there it had melted and overflowed the cup and covered my console, passenger seat and carpet in cherry custard. So I stopped and dumped it out the window. Thanks Andy's! Now I get to clean custard out of my car before it smells like rotten milk.
