I come about once a week to this location and enjoy the food and service. But one particular evening, I was the last customer right before closing and I ordered my Uber. I made the mistake stepping outside in freezing temperatures because the staff were cleaning and closing up shop. I presumed it would be five minutes until my ride arrived and turned out my driver had quite the delay. So I politely knocked on the door to have them let me in where it was warm after 5 minutes had passed. They all ignored my calls and didn't even make eye contact with me. I even recall addressing some of the staff by their names and pleading to let me stand in the wait room because it got to the point where I was literally freezing. Another ten minutes went by and I could no longer feel my hands and my phone battery died as a bonus. I tried to scour the area for anybody to make contact with or any other open businesses, no luck. It finally got to the point where I was shaking the door handle and begging for them to call the cops to even help me, it was pathetic to watch them just clean away and ignore me. Finally, to my pleasure a police car showed up and I darted towards them to grab their attention. The officer helped me charge my phone and soon after my Uber ride showed up! I was thankful to make it home and to this day I can't believe the staff couldn't find the compassion to help one of their customers out. It was as if I was a nobody and they didn't care what happened to me. It was a wake up call for sure. They knew I ordered an Uber, they smile in my face and know my name, I tip them 20% or more every time I am there, I did not request to come back in to order another beer, they knew I just wanted to wait where it was warm.....and thats how I...
Read moreWe drove from Fort Leavenworth since this is the closest Old Chicago and we really wanted it. I regret not driving to the Olathe location.
We were sat around 6:20pm. At 6:44pm we still had not been acknowledged, no drink order taken and I contemplated leaving as it was not busy for Saturday but I really wanted pizza rolls.
A waitress casually walking by asked if we had been helped. She was kind enough to take our drink order and our food order too since we were ready. We waited another 10-12ish mins and the restaurant cleared out significantly. At thisnpoint theres less than 6 tabkes and maybe 6 people at the bar. Our drinks finally arrive- HOT. The ice was mostly melted and the soda was room temp at best. Disgusting and I couldn't even drink mine.
Food came and I was immediately disappointed. My Chicken and Mac looked like it had been sitting there for a while. The melted cheese on top had hardened. My daughters Chicken Pesto Alfredo looked better. But when I tried a bite, it too was room temp. The only food that arrived that was hot and delicious was the pizza roll appetizer things. 2 of my children did get refills and those were delivered quickly so I thought maybe those would actually be cold. Nope, its like the soda machine was broken and not cooling the soda.
I did not complain to the waitress or ask for a discount because at the end of all this, I should have left after 20 mins of waiting for service but I chose to stay so its my fault.
Paid $70 plus tip for crap food.
Save your money. We go out to eat once a month at best and I am very upset we wasted our money...
Read moreTwo human hairs in my food tonight. I am just tired of giving this store multiple chances. My family's experiences have been that food can take over an hour after ordering to be delivered to the table, I've had burgers served dangerously undercooked, and tonight, I found not one, but TWO HUMAN HAIRS in a calzone.
I really want to like this place. The atmosphere would be great if I ever had a chance to just trust that the food would be served in a manner worth paying for, but that's just not the case. When the servers are good, they are REALLY good, and it's for their sake that I wish I didn't have to warn people that you stand a solid chance of being neglected at your table, even on a slow night; that you have a chance of contracting a foodborne illness because people don't temp the food before serving it; and that you might be swallowing someone else's HUMAN HAIR in your next bite. I was just appalled, and the manager, Casey, could barely be bothered to care. He shuffled by, mumbled as quietly as he could: "I heard there was...something in your food." He only offered to replace the food when the entire experience was ruined. Maybe other people can stomach continuing to eat food from a restaurant that serves hair in their food, but I can't. Replacing one dish when the entire experience is toast, especially when it's a pattern and not just an isolated incident, doesn't quite make up for it.
Save yourself a gag-worthy experience or three, and go to Buffalo Wild...
