The fruit BT is not fresh (I think it used to be) but is in syrup and frozen. Quality has gone down in last years and then this was the straw that broke the camels back last month: I often get a vanilla custard/sundae with espresso poured over it - in fact I have gotten these (also called Affogatos at some places) at many Andy's locations for over 3 years now. However in dec 2022 I asked for a small vanilla sundae / dish with one shot of espresso poured over not mixed - and they said "it is against policy to make that". I asked for the manager and the (very young) gentleman said he was the manager and that he cannot make that. I tried to reason with him - ie common sense (which is not that common!) and said well - it IS the same as mixing it in terms of ingredients so it makes no difference if mixed or not. He said no. I asked if one could get other items "not mixed" and he said yes. I then reasoned - well - why not espresso do you think somehow it will change and poison me or be dangerous? No this young man said - it was just "against policy". Sadly I saw yet another example of a young person who had no capability for independent thinking, relational thinking or common sense for that matter - to realize that this is totally unreasonably and made no sense. So now - here is my bad review. I won't mention that this is a standard espresso drink at many places. Yes it is a tad unusual, but what is the difference between vanilla ice cream mixed with espresso and vanilla ice cream with it poured over? NONE. DOH! So sad, I no longer go to Andys and just might go to a different location and hope for someone with COMMON SENSE. Perhaps another way to think about this is this - will any harm come to a customer who orders this? No. Could I order it separately? Probably....I mean worst case scenario what could happen...it's an eye roll DO moment, so sad and another case of a corporate culture that is actually harming the company. Another joy was taken from me that day. I got fruit not mixed and that was...
Read moreI’ve been to Andy’s a few times and each time it’s a bit of a disappointment. I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt, but tonight confirmed it. My husband and I ordered a regular size Andy’s Ozark Turtle Sundae with Strawberries added and a small Waffle Nutty Crunch Concrete. The bill was $13. My sundae was given to me runny, a lot of it already melted with way too many pecans. The strawberries were the frozen kind that have been thawed, not fresh. I took about 5 bites of actual vanilla custard before it was all liquid, pecans, and squishy strawberries. For $7, it was terrible. My husband’s was way better though it was bland without much flavor. The waffle crunch was the redeeming factor. Still, not worth $6. I would not recommend Andy’s. I’ve been to way better custard places that have better quality and are affordable. They were fast to deliver, but it’s...
Read moreI would love to give them 5 starts because I grew up in Springfield where Andy's is very well known. I live in KC now and just right around the corner from this location. I'm not sure what the issue is when ordering iced tea but the last three times I order it, it's all syrup and water. I asked for just a regular tea to see if they just put too much syrup in it... on the second one it looked like mostly water to where you could see straight through the cup. I ended up throwing it away and leaving. I didn't want to ask for a refund because the employee already seemed inconvenienced that I asked for a new one. I would rate it lower but my dog really like the custard and I love Andy's in Springfield but this location is seriously lacking on a simple thing like pressing a button and putting in a tea bag. I went to quik trip and got...
